• Today is NOT about wastewater treatment or specific development applications
Wastewater Treatment
• Report to Council on April 7, 2016 on developing a guiding City-wide planning policy to deal with any proposed facility development application
• Open house planned for April 25, 2016 7.00pm @ Crystal Gardens
What does a Neighbourhood Plan do?
• Provides detailed guidance for growth, change and development in the neighbourhood
• Builds on the work of the Official Community Plan (OCP) by filling in the details at the local level
• Create a planning and design policies to evaluate future development proposals
• Identifies community needs, values and wants
Fairfield - Gonzales Neighbourhood Plan
• Directing growth to designated areas (i.e. urban villages, corridors, downtowncore)
• Planning for appropriate housing forms;
• Designing for pedestrians, bikes and proximity to transit; and
• Preserving special neighbourhood characteristics and community spaces.
