Dear Friend, The arts matter in our society, and you can make a difference to the arts! Please consider a tax-deductible donation of an item or service to the silent auction gala of the Fairfax Choral Society (FCS), taking place April 16, 2016. FCS is a vibrant, local organization and the largest choral organization in Northern Virginia, with more than 400 singers—preschoolers to adults—participating in our 10 choruses. Naturally, our singers share FCS events with their friends and families, creating an extensive community. We expect our gala to draw 200 to 300 attendees and the online auction component will give your donation further exposure. This event’s success is critical to our funding and we rely on generous donors like you to make it possible. Now in its 54th season, FCS aims to inspire and unite communities. Our choruses perform throughout the DC region in concerts that include premiers of works by notable composers and collaborations with area ensembles. Your support allows FCS to provide music education for all ages, with our Early Childhood Musicianship class and programs for youth and teens. Your donation will also help us continue our spring Poetry of Music program, now in its 11th year. This exciting collaboration between FCS and Fairfax County Public Schools engages students in creating poetry that is commissioned into choral works. Our programs rely on support from the community. Please consider donating items or services to our 2016 Silent Auction. We will feature all contributing businesses in the auction catalog and promote donors with a link on the FCS website. Businesses making a donation valued at $150 or more will also be featured in concert programs for one year!
