The global FAIR TRADE definition
Fair Trade is a trading partnership, based on dialogue, transparency and respect, that seeks greater equity in international trade. It contributes to sustainable development by offering better trading conditions to, and securing the rights of, small and marginalized producers and workers – especially in the South.

400 members, 75 countries in all continents.
Controlled by the members with an elected Board.
Head office in The Netherlands, regional offices are in Chiang Mai, Brussels, Nairobi, and Assunciòn/Paraguay.
Core costs covered by membership fee.

WFTO-Asia enables dedicated Fair Trade Organizations in Asia to deliver Fair Trade and to seek greater equity in international trade.
