Mission Statement

The Florida Association of International Educators (FAIE) holds

as its key objective: "The promotion of international educational

exchange in the State of Florida."

In keeping with standards and principles established by the

NAFSA Code of Ethics, the FAIE provides to the membership

in its five districts professional education and training. This

training is designed to strengthen and develop programs and

services in international education throughout the state. The

FAIE provides a forum for discussion of issues and a network for

sharing information pertinent to international education. The

FAIE holds that international educational exchange advances

learning and scholarship, enhances respect and cooperation

among the peoples of the world, and encourages constructive

leadership in a global community.

This session will present a survey conducted about the influences on the decision to study abroad. The results of the survey were used in a dissertation on the same topic and will be the impetus for discussion about study abroad in general and how to get more students involved.
