- 1. Wrap
- 2. The human need for light is simple. We need light in order to see. In order to live, work and feel safe. The best light is natural light; it surrounds us from all sides, never dazzles and we can always find shade should it be- come too obtrusive. To recreate this experience, a luminaire must discharge light in many directions. The downwards light needs to be complemented with indi- rect light which is reflected upwards and outwards against the walls and ceiling. This approach helps us feel like we are surrounded by light. It be- comes easier to see not just want is directly ahead of us but also to the sides and further away. Ultimately, we should also be able to influence the intensity of the light, since we all see in different ways and have different tasks to complete. Wrap is such a luminaire. Light, naturally
- 3. Wrap is a luminaire intended for offices, schools and other public spaces. At the centre of the Wrap family is the pendant version, which provides direct and indi- rect light via separate lighting sources. By taking this approach it offers maximum flexibility for the user to define their own lit environment via lighting controls.
- 4. However complicated the technology may be, light should never be difficult to understand. The function must be obvious and the experience direct and spon- taneous. We usually do everything we can to hide the technology. Wrap it up in shapes that are something else. Play with surfaces and dimensions, to draw the eye away from the luminaire and towards the light it- self. This time we decided to do the opposite.
- 5. Nature never overly complicates, shape follows function to present intricate ele- ments in the most obvious way. Wrap derives its unique profile following the same principles. The concept was to highlight the technology within rather than conceal it. The aluminium casing fits tightly around the components, with all the surfaces be- ing shaped according to the contents within, for a distinctive and robust aesthetic. The widest edges are defined by the reflector and louvres, automatically draw- ing the eye towards the light openings and highlighting how the light is dispersed. The intensity of the output can be regulated manually or intuitively via sensors for the lighting control. By giving the light a form we have given it a voice and its the packaging that speaks. Wrap We know how to give light a voice
- 6. We wanted to create a good light that does justice to both people and architecture. Effective and varied with an exciting form, but without unnecessary increase in power. Wrap is a luminaire that converses with its surroundings, but never shouts. Leif Igelstrm and Ola Granlund, designer.
- 7. The name speaks for itself. We have taken the luminaire together with all its components and packed it in the most effective and ob- vious way. Many associations are made with shrink wrap or other types of form-fitting packaging. The most fun aspect of the packa- ging is that is makes the observer seriously consider the content. You understand that all that technology is contained inside as well as what is required to make room for the light. Thus, the end is a little unexpected it is what makes the luminaire odd. Normally one thinks of the luminaire as a whole section - but we have chosen to let the luminaire grow through the end cap. The gable forms a visually slim volume which further helps to to emphasising the reflectors on the top and bottom of the luminaire.
- 8. Wrap is also available in a ceiling model for general lighting. Provid- ing predominately a direct light, the luminaire has been designed with slots in this side of the housing. This provides a small amount of indirect distribution, creating a soft ambient light that lifts the ceiling and reaches out towards the walls. The room seems brighter and more open, while the strain on the eye is also reduced. Wrap ceiling with light slots
- 9. Wrap is a complete system for general and work lighting in public places. Developed with energy efficient T5 light sources, innovative reflector tech- nology and lighting control its an ideal solutions for areas with a high de- mand for aesthetics and energy awareness. Both the suspended and ceiling luminaires are available as a single or tandem model with three different louvre options. Wrap is equipped with Fagerhults multi-ballasts that en- able power exchanges as long as the lamps are of equal length, even after the luminaire has been mounted. Single & tandem

Light forms the basis for film, photography and painting. It not only gives people a sense of physical and mental well-being but also creates the visual environment for aesthetic experiences. Light is an inspiration behind artistic creativity, our perception and appreciation; something that has been explored but not always defined. For us at Fagerhult the art of light is grounded in an exact science. Something that can be measured quantified and controlled. Our lighting technology is used to create functional, comfortable, energy efficient light. This expertise allows us to push the boundaries and use light as the raw material for a very personal form of expression.
