Faculty & StaffHighlights
In the Fall 2007 semester:
ECU employed 1,711 regular full–time and part-time faculty (p. 103); an increase of 1% from the previous year.
42% of the faculty were women (p. 103).
14% of the faculty were ethnic minorities (p. 104).
51% of the faculty were under the age of 50 (p. 105); the average age of faculty members of all ranks was 48 (p. 106).
33% of the faculty had more than 10 years of service with the university, while approximately one-half (48%) have fewer than 6 years of service (p. 107). The average length of service was 9 years (p. 108).
80% of non-administrative faculty (including temporary faculty but excluding SOM) were employed on a full-time basis, and 57% were tenured or on tenure track (p. 111).
The average salary for all faculty (excluding SOM), converted to a full-time, nine-month salary equivalent, ranged from $55,649 for instructors to $93,510 for professors. The average salary for all ranks (instructor through professor) was $74,615 (p. 117).
33% of ECUʼs total workforce were faculty (p. 120).
23% of the total workforce were ethnic minorities (p. 121).
ECU employed 3,045 (59%) women, and 2,108 (41%) men (p. 122).
