Dr. Gould has training in the most advanced procedures and technologies, including ultrasound, platelet-rich plasma, stem cell therapy, and prolotherapy. She uses this expertise to focus on non-surgical options to restore optimal function.
An avid runner, Sara Chidester Gould has suffered from many sports-related injuries herself and has a special interest in getting people back into the activities they love.
As an undergraduate at Johns Hopkins University, she
competed on the cross country team, while earning a degree
in Neuroscience. She then returned to Ohio, where she was
born, to attend The Ohio State University College of Medicine.
She graduated cum laude with doctor of medicine degree.
She also obtained a masters in public health degree from
Tulane University.
Dr. Gould completed her residency in emergency medicine at
New York University/Bellevue Hospital. During this time, she
provided medical coverage for a variety of sports events such
as Yankee’s and Ranger’s games.
She then went on to a fellowship in non-operative sports
medicine at North Shore University Hospital System. As part
of her fellowship, Dr. Gould was active in sports sidelines
coverage, from high school football teams to the NBA All-Star
games. She also provides medical coverage for The New York
Road Runners for events such as the New York City Half-Marathon.

Dr. Gould has completed additional training in ultrasound
and ultrasound-guided injections. She has attended training
seminars in ultrasound-guided injections and procedures at
various institutions, including UNC-Chapel Hill. Most recently,
she attended an advanced ultrasound course and overview
of cutting-edge procedures at The Andrews Institute of
Sports Medicine, run by Dr. James Andrews. Dr. Andrews is
a preeminent sports medicine surgeon who has treated elite
athletes at the NFL and college levels for many years. Dr. Gould
is also registered in musculoskeletal sonography (RMSK),
credentialed by The American Registry for Diagnostic Medical
Sonography (ARDMS) to perform musculoskeletal sonography.
Dr. Gould is particularly interested in helping active patients
safely shorten their recovery time from injuries through
various methods. She specializes in platelet-rich plasma
injections using ultrasound guidance. She also performs
prolotherapy. Dr. Gould focuses on using non-surgical options
to help her patients restore optimal function.
