3. Identify TOOLS (software) and PARTNERSHIPS (business, organizations) inside and outside of SUNY and recommend how best to leverage these.
4. Identify and share best PRACTICES and exemplary uses of Learning Analytics across SUNY.

CAMPUS SURVEY RESULTS
The Task Group conducted a survey and received a 21% response rate. Most of the schools that participated in the survey have some learning analytics processes in place, with the most common use currently is for institutional reporting.
Survey: Institutional Level Use
a) identify students at risk of leaving the college without a degree from the college [54%]
b) identify students who are in need of developmental courses [46%]
c) place students in appropriate credit courses [54%]d) evaluate student progress on course objectives
[38%]e) predict student performance in courses [15%]

LA Task Group RecommendationsEXPLORATIONS & DISCUSSIONS• Continue Task Group for second year • DEVELOP a one day conference, speaker series. and additional webinars to educate SUNY
about the options, tools, etc. EXPERIMENTATION• Allocate resources to initiate Learning Analytics projects and resources for SUNY.• Encourage LA experimentation using IITG process. • Develop a “Faculty fellows” program (Like U Michigan) • Develop “Proof of concept” projects for schools, using analytics tools, to develop simple
methods for data analysis and best practices.
PILOT TOOLS• Develop a list of available tools for further investigation to meet institutional needs.
Potentially pilot.– Align LA tool selection with current systems (i.e. Banner and DegreeWorks)
• Identify the commons questions that all schools are interested in: predictions of success –online and blended using LMS; predictions of attrition; – And recommend best practices, process, etc.
CONSORTIUMS• Identify consortiums to join..
