Phase II VTA’s BART Silicon Valley Phase II Project is a six-mile, four-station extension that will bring BART train service from Berryessa/North San José through downtown San José to the City of Santa Clara. Program Overview VTA’s BART Silicon Valley Program provides transportation improvements in the corridor that extends from the southern border of Alameda County in the City of Fremont, through the cities of Milpitas, San José, and Santa Clara in Santa Clara County. These improvements include a 16-mile, six-station extension of the Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) system that is being managed and funded by the Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority (VTA) in cooperation with BART. VTA’s BART Silicon Valley Extension is being constructed in two phases. Phase I (Berryessa Extension), currently under construction, extends 10 miles south from the Warm Springs/South Fremont station and adds two new stations: Milpitas and Berryessa/North San José.
