Ageing is characterised by thinner, drier and less elastic skin caused by the loss of collagen and elastin from sun damage, and/or physiological degradation and dehydration.

This reduction in the quality and firmness, or resilience, of the skin means that it has poor elastic memory and is less able to repair itself when it folds repeatedly from muscle action, leaving a visible crease line that becomes a wrinkle as it gets deeper with time.

AGEING SKIN & WRINKLES

COSMETIC INJECTIONSCosmetic injections contain a substance that reduces contraction of very specific muscles that causes the skin to fold. The effects last for about 4 months, after which time the procedure needs to be repeated. With time there is often a decrease in the required dosage, and an increase in the period between treatments. At FACELAB the treatments are performed by expert aesthetic clinicians who have intimate knowledge of the structures that make up the face, and who are qualified dentists or doctors with specific post-graduate training in advanced facial aesthetics. When the right muscles are correctly targeted, the result is a smoother fresher look rather than one which is unnatural or frozen.

LASER REJUVENATIONFACELAB’s medical grade Er:YAG, Nd:YAG and Q-switch laser systems enable precision, versatility and effects that are impossible to achieve with any other skin rejuvenation technology. The laser light precisely targets areas of the skin where skin ageing has occurred. The treatments help revive the quality of the skin by eliminating damaged tissues, stimulating the formation of new collagen and promoting regeneration of the skin surface. These lasers are also used to specifically target tiny blood vessels, sun spots, age spots, various other pigmentation changes, as well as facial hair, all of which occur with ageing.

MICRO-NEEDLINGIn certain situations, such as dark skin types, which have a higher affinity to laser light, micro-needling may be used instead of, or intermittently with lasers to induce collagen. It is also used for to stimulate scalp hair follicles for hair regeneration.

STEP 1 . HOLLYWOOD CARBON PEELA layer of liquid carbon is applied to the skin, which penetrates deep into the pores. The Carbon particles attach to dead skin cells and absorb the oil and contaminants within the pores. A Q-switch Nd:YAG laser specifically targets the carbon particles, and as it destroys these particles, it removes the attached dead skin cells, contaminants and oil.

Along with the cleansing and exfoliation of the skin, the heat produced from the carbon peel reduces P.Acnes bacteria responsible for acne, and shrinks sebaceous glands resulting in reduced secretion of oil, thus reducing the chances of breakouts.

Step 1 . FRAC3 ANTI AGEING BOOST

Multi-pass FRAC 3 treatments stimulate the skin’s natural capacity to rejuvenate be selectively inducing micro wounds in prematurely aged or damaged portions of the dermis and epidermis. The laser action creates 3-dimensional matrix of micro wounds which are concentrated at the specific depths of the existing skin damage. DEPIGMENTATION & SKIN WHITENING

Using the versatile parameters of FACELAB’s laser systems, we are able to target pigmentation at various depths/layers of the skin and effectively treat conditions such as melasma, sun spots, uneven dark patches as well as cosmetic colour correction to whiten and brighten the skin. The natural pigment within the skin absorbs the laser’s energy and shatters within the skin’s tissues.

The rest is done by the body’s own immune system as the skin’s cleansing cells, called “macrophages,” digest the excess pigment and clear it from the area. The treatment is quick and painless. Usually sun spots require only one or two treatments for removal, although larger, darker spots and full skin whitening require more. Once treated the pigmentation will not return. However laser treatment cannot stop the ageing of the skin and other age spots will appear in time, and can be addressed again if and when desired.
