Client Briefing: How to schedule a Post for a Facebook Page
Simon Baptist
May 2012
1. Until recently, if you wanted to schedule a post for a Facebook Page
you would need to use a 3rd Party tool
2. It is now possible to schedule a post directly in what Facebook calls the
Composer
3. We have put together these simple instructions to follow
4. At this point, you may be asking yourself why would you want to
schedule a post?
It is our experience from posting thousands of messages every week for Local
businesses across Europe that there is an optimal time
This is true generally but we have seen big differences between different
types of businesses, e.g. restaurants vs. hotels and even for specific Pages
Our recommendation is that if you don’t currently use a 3rd Party tool, it’s
worth persevering with the Facebook functionality because with some
scheduling and testing, you will soon be on your way to best practice success
2
Facebook recently released the ability to schedule Posts for Pages
Click on the little clock icon in the bottom left hand corner
3
Select your Year, Month, Date, Hour and Minute & then click Schedule
4
Some notes to consider:
1. You need to schedule at
least 10 minutes in
advance
2. If you choose a date in
the past, the post will be
posted immediately to
your Timeline
3. Scheduling time is
relevant to your Time
Zone
Wait a second, I want to review my Post, maybe make a change…what do I do now?
1. Go to your Activity Log
2. You should see your Scheduled Posts at the top
3. As well as reading the Post you have a few other
actions you can take:
• Change the time of the post
• Publish immediately
• Or Cancel the post
4. Sadly, Facebook hasn’t enabled an Edit option, so
if you do want to change your post the only choice
at this point is to Cancel the post and re-write it

Why 330 Lines?
330 Lines was founded in 2012 by the former Social Media team at European Directories, a pan-European Local search and lead generation company.
330 Lines mission is to help translate Local SMBs business needs into the language of Facebook.
Since recognising in 2010 how Facebook was going to become more and more important for how customers and potential customers connect with Local businesses, the 330 Lines founders have helped thousands of Local businesses across Europe to begin to realise the Facebook opportunity.
From helping these thousands of customers 330 Lines has learnt that the best approach to create success is to develop an effective Facebook programme optimized for that type of business but tailored to the business’ unique characteristics. This programme is made up of three main elements:
1. Presence: Having a high quality Page helps Local businesses be found on Facebook
2. Engagement: Joining the conversation that customers & potential customers are having
3. Awareness: Letting people know that you are there and joining the conversation
330 Lines is now taking the experience learnt over the last two years and is launching in the United Kingdom in spring 2012
