The authors of best-seller One-Yard Wonders are back with a fresh collection of sewing projects contributed by sewing
bloggers and designers across North America: Fabric-by-Fabric One-Yard Wonders. This time, Rebecca Yaker and Patricia Hosk-ins show how to take full advantage of all the enticing, often unfamiliar new fabrics on the market — one yard at a time.
Knits, wool, voiles, quilting cottons, corduroy, flannel, fleece, oilcloth, home dec, faux fur, coated cotton . . . the sheer variety of fabrics available now to home sewers is exciting yet daunting. Each type has its own distinctive features and rules. Just how do you iron corduroy without crushing the pile? And what do you do with oilcloth, anyway?
Like the fabrics themselves, this lively guide gets sewers’ creative juices flowing.
• No other sewing book offers such incredible value — 101 projects with full-sized pattern pieces enclosed.
• Clothing and accessories for all ages, toys, bags, decorative items, and more — a project for every sewing mood and gift opportunity.
• Working one yard at a time encourages experimentation with a wide range of fabrics and leftovers.
• Many projects can be completed in just a few hours.
• Great for both novices and veterans eager to branch out.
One-Yard Wonders, released in October 2009, already has 135,000 copies in print. Following in its tracks, Fabric-by-Fabric One-Yard Wonders features contributions from sewing bloggers and designers across North America. The resulting diversity of styles and ideas — from boxer shorts to hunting caps, bookends to bicycle panniers — is pure inspiration.

A Guide to Exploring the Wild World of Fabrics
“[A] quirky and hip sewing book. . . A fun collection presented in a cheerful style with easy-to-follow instructions.” — Library Journal
“Talk about quality and quantity, One-Yard Wonders is an impressive volume of super creative projects all utilizing our favorite scraps and a simple yard of fabric. This book is a keeper!” — Amy Butler, Amy Butler Design
“The book is filled with sewing projects for around the home (and some clothes) that require only one yard of fabric. This is perfect for us since we’re often so smitten with a fabric that we buy a small amount of it just in case we think of something to use it for.” — Laure Joliet, Apartmenttherapy.com
