Stinky Skunk and Cleanly Cat

By Mrs. Rice and Mrs. Cordova

It was a warm summer night in

Platte City. Cleanly Cat finished licking

her furry paws clean when a sudden

surge of loneliness hit. Being proactive

Cleanly Cat messaged Stinky Skunk on

her Dell computer, inviting Stinky Skunk

over for an exciting sleep over.

As soon as Stinky Skunk arrived,

she threw her overnight bag down on the garage floor and rushed out the

door to play with cleanly Cat. The first game the two girls played was

tag…and man were they sweaty! Then, the two friends jumped on the

trampoline, playing games like crack the egg. Finally, the hot sweaty girls

dug in the flower garden where the dirt clung to them like glue.

Just as Stinky Skunk and Cleanly Cat were finishing in the dirt, hot,

delicious pizza arrived. The girls darted into the garage where they washed

their paws. Cleanly Cat’s nose started to twitch at an obnoxious odor.

Worried the stench was coming from her, Cleanly Cat quickly cleaned her

whole body. She even applied deodorant for good measure making sure she

smelled as sweet as a flower. But the smell was still there.

Page 5: Fables 2012

Cleanly Cat followed her nose to …Stinky Skunk, who was digging into

the pizza while noxious fumes rose from her body. Ever so politely, Cleanly

Cat said, “Stinky, I can still smell you. Would you like to use my shower to

freshen up?” Stinky said, “No, I am just going to keep eating.” Stinky Skunk

and Cleanly Cat then argued about Stinky Skunk’s need of a shower.

Finally, the smell had overcome the entire garage and Cleanly Cat was

too nauseous to take anymore. Cleanly Cat called Mrs. Rice and demanded

she pick Stinky Skunk up. Furious, Mrs. Rice picked Stinky Skunk up and took

her home. Cleanly Cat freshened up her garage thinking

The moral of this story is: People don’t like you so well when you start

to smell.

The Fox Brothers and the

Rabbit Sisters

By: Hannah and Triton

One hot, hot day in the

Rapid Desert there were two

soft rabbit sisters. Their nice

names were Hopper and

Happy. Hopper and Happy

were playing tag and they were

so bashful and sweet together.

A mysterious fox named Sly asked the White sisters to

dinner. The cute sisters were happy to go and replied yes.

When the fuzzy sisters got to the scary fox’s house, Sly started

telling one sister she was faster and one sister she was prettier.

This was a big problem because they both wanted to be better

than the other sister. They started to argue but… Hopper and

Happy worked out their problem and decided they were both

the same. Yay!

Page 7: Fables 2012

Since sneaky Sly tricked kind Hopper and Happy, Hopper

and Happy invited the mean fox brothers over for a delicious

dinner. Hopper and

Happy told the horrible

fox brothers that Sly was

way more vicious and

tough than his brother.

Sly’s rude brother did

not like that at all! Sly

and his brother started

fighting like two

professional boxers! The

nasty foxes fought their

way out the door. The

sweet and cuddly sisters

never ever got near evil

Sly and his brother again.

Moral: Treat your friends the way you want to be treated.

Funny Monkey and Yellow

Banana

By: Morgan and Robbie

It was late afternoon in the

jungle. Rude Lion was in his dark

den sleeping deeply. Funny

Monkey was playing with her toy

banana… a little too close to Rude

Lion’s den. Funny Monkey accidently threw the banana into

Lion’s den. Funny Monkey found Helping Mouse by the den

and asked for help. Helping Mouse said he would help get the

yellow banana.

In Rude Lion’s den there were many rocks and bones.

Helping Mouse snuck in Rude Lion’s den. She saw yellow

banana and Rude Lion was coming around the corner. Rude

Lion got Helping Mouse and kept him in his den corner.

Helping Mouse found a hole and hid in it. When Rude Lion

was hunting, Funny Monkey snuck in Rude Lion’s den. Helping

Page 9: Fables 2012

Mouse got the yellow banana

and ran off to home with Funny

Monkey. Funny Monkey and

Helping Mouse never played by

Rude Lion’s den again. They kept

their toy banana safe with Funny

Monkey and away from all the

dangerous places.

Moral: Don’t get close to danger or else a problem will

happen.

Weird Wolf and Poisonous

Snake

By: Konner and Breanna

One hot day in the forest,

there lived a Weird Wolf. He

spotted a colorful Poisonous

Snake slithering across the

grassy ground. Weird Wolf

asked if Snake wanted to play at Wolf’s house.

The next day Poisonous Snake came over to Weird

Wolf’s to play. Suddenly, Weird Wolf felt a pain in his leg

because the snake bit him. The snake was very

poisonous and tricky.

Weird Wolf suffered for many days. Days went on

and the poisonous bite got greenish purplish. As the

days went on… the poisonous bite got worse.

Page 11: Fables 2012

Weird Wolf was

sleeping. Weird Wolf’s

mother tried to wake him up.

She found out he died of a

poisonous snake bite. The

mom had a funeral for her

son. Poisonous Snake

laughed then slithered on.

Mama Wolf got mad, but she

knew something important

that her son didn’t know…

Moral: Be careful and don’t get close to danger.

The Cuddly Hedgehog and

Caring Koala

By: Liberty and Grant

It was a warm, sunny day in

the in the green rainforest. At noon

Cuddly Hedgehog and a Caring

Koala were playing high up in the

trees. Cuddly and Caring were the

best of friends. They had an arch

enemy. The Wolf. A Gigantic Wolf. They hated the Cruel, Gigantic

Wolf because he was a big, bad bully.

The Gigantic Wolf always tried to trick Cuddly and Caring

Koala by acting and faking that he was a nice guy. He also lies.

Cuddly and Caring Koala knew he was a prankster, a liar.

Cuddly and Caring Koala told the Wolf the truth – which he

was a mean Gigantic Wolf. They said you are just faking that you

are nice. The Gigantic Wolf said he wanted to have some friends.

He really wanted to be their friends. How about being my new best

friends? said the Wolf.

Page 13: Fables 2012

Finally, Wolf said he was sorry

for all the pranks and lies in the

past. Caring Koala & Cuddly

decided to give Wolf another

chance at being friends. Gigantic

Wolf had changed his mean and

tricky ways. So no more lies for the

Wolf. They all became the best of

friends … playing and enjoying

each other.

Moral: People will discover your lies sooner or later. So be honest.

Stinky and Fox’s Problem

By: Kris and Molly

It was a summerish fall day

in the Kansas City woods when a

warm wind went past. Stinky

Skunk and Playful Fox were

playing an exciting basketball

game.

Stinky Skunk and Playful Fox were cheering and clapping

for each other. Both cheered and clapped every time Stinky

Skunk or Playful Fox made a shot. The game was really

spectacular until…

Playful Fox missed his shot. He shot a different way.

Playful Fox’s face was as red as a tomato. Stinky Skunk said,

“Are you okay?” Stinky Skunk’s face was as white as snow.

Page 15: Fables 2012

Playful Fox said, “What’s the matter with you? You made

me mess up.” Playful Fox’s face was as red as lava.

Stinky Skunk said, “I didn’t

do anything. In fact, I’m ten feet

away from you.”

Playful Fox and Stinky

Skunk kept arguing over and

over again. Stinky Skunk and

Playful Fox stopped arguing only

because they were no longer

friends.

Moral: It is better to recognize our own defects than to put the

blame on others.

Playtime in the Park

By Bethany and Jon

One windy, sunny day at

Happy Hamster’s house, he decided

to play at Platte City Park. Happy

Hamster had nobody in his way to

slide on the red, shiny slide. Happy

Hamster was crawling on his way.

When Happy Hamster got there he was amazed and jumped

on the red, shiny slide. Happy Hamster was sliding down the long

slide.

Ten minutes later Protective Dog showed up and Protective

Dog wanted to slide on the red, shiny slide. Happy Hamster said,

“There is only one red, shiny slide, so go away!” Protective Dog

played on the smelly blue slide and it was not fun. Protective Dog

came over to the red, shiny slide again.

“Don’t be selfish,” said Protective Dog. Happy Hamster

became a mad hamster. Mad Hamster grouched, “I’m not selfish!”

Page 17: Fables 2012

Happy Hamster and Protective Dog were fighting for twenty

minutes until Protective Dog said,

“You’re going to be my dinner!”

“Then … you go

f…f...f...f..first,” said Scared

Hamster. “Thank you so much!”

said Protective dog. Then

Protective Dog said, “You’re not my

dinner,” and they took turns. Then

they became very amazing friends.

The moral of the story is: When you share instead of being selfish,

you come out ahead.

The Gorilla That Ate Too Much

Food

By: Andreas and Brett

One humid summer afternoon,

Playful Grizzly Bear wanted to play.

So he went to Kind Gorilla’s house

to see if he wanted to play on the most wild monkey bars.

Kind Gorilla heard the doorbell. Kind Gorilla trotted to see

who was at the door. It was Playful Grizzly Bear. Playful Grizzly

wanted to have some fun. “I’m too hungry,” said Kind Gorilla,

“maybe later.” Playful Grizzly walked off sadly.

Playful Grizzly Bear went to his other friends and they all

went to the sunny, humid park. Kind Gorilla sat on the couch

and ate five whole pepperoni pizzas. He watched TV. His

tongue was on fire and he had a horrible stomach ache. Kind

Gorilla knew he had made a bad choice.

Page 19: Fables 2012

Kind Gorilla looked out the window and saw the active kids

playing at the Platte City Park. When he saw the healthy kids

playing at the park, he felt

horrible about what he had

done. Kind Gorilla went to

Mom and told her what he had

done. Mom’s advice was to be

more active and don’t eat five

pepperoni pizzas! The next

day… Kind Gorilla went out and

apologized to Playful Grizzly

Bear.

Moral: Eating too much food will always give you a stomach

ache. Kids should be active.

The Darling Dolphin and the

Electric Eel

By: Cole and Kobe

Once upon a time there was a Darling

Dolphin and an Electric Eel. They lived

in the Beautiful Pacific Ocean. They

were great friends. They always played

together and wrestled around. They

loved to play and swim. Eel had a

secret. He told Darling that he had lost his electricity.

One fine day the Electric Eel and Darling were frolicking around, as

they often do. Electric Eel discovered that when Darling would touch

his fins onto Eels skin, Dolphin would get shocked. Ouch!

Ouch! It happened again. This time Electric Eel touched Dolphin’s

Stomach. Guess what? He was shocked! Wow, the electric waves were

rushing through his body . But you told me you had lost your

electricity. Said Darling Dolphin. You are not telling the truth. I can’t be

friends with you anymore. So Darling Dolphin swam away.

Page 21: Fables 2012

Electric Eel kept on shocking new

friends that he made. He did not have

friends for very long. Because they

figured out he liked to lie and play

tricks. He kept lying and shocking his

new buddies.

Finally, the Eel realized that he had lost

more friends from zapping them.

Nobody trusted Eel anymore. He really

missed his friend Darling Dolphin.

Moral: No one will believe you when you are a liar. It is better to speak

the truth.

Cuddly Panda Bear and Funny

Monkey

By Paige and Morgan M.

Once upon a starry night, there

was a cuddly Panda Bear and a funny

Monkey. They had not met yet…but,

they will soon.

Cuddly Panda Bear and Funny

Monkey met at Central Forest Park in the middle of summer. Cuddly

Panda Bear asked if Funny Monkey wanted to play in the Jungle Gym

Fort at Central Forest Park.

“Let’s go get banana smoothies, then we can play,” says Funny

Monkey. Funny Monkey bought himself an ice cold banana smoothie.

Monkey finished his banana smoothie from Paradise Ice. Cuddly Panda

bear didn’t get a drink. Then, Cuddly Panda Bear got tired of waiting.

Page 23: Fables 2012

Cuddly Panda Bear asked if they could play. “NO!” said Funny

Monkey. “Why?” Cuddly Panda Bear asked. “When I was drinking my

banana smoothie, I wanted

someone to talk to. You talked to

me, now I don’t want to play.”

“I’ve been waiting this whole time

for you to play though” said

Cuddly Panda Bear.

Then, a few weeks later,

Monkey said, “I’m bored.” Funny

Monkey asked if Cuddly Panda

Bear wanted to play. Cuddly

Panda Bear wanted to play.

Cuddly Panda Bear said, “No, you

didn’t want to play with me.”

The moral of the story is: When you want someone to do something

for you, be sure that you are willing to do the same.

Stinky Smelly Skunk & Mr.

Porcupine

By: Jacklyn & Caitlin

It was a warm, sunny

day at Platte Ridge Park. A

stinky, smelly, skunk went out

to play “jump up high in the

sky.”

Well that stinky, smelly, skunk was making so much

noise as she was jumping up high, higher and higher into

the sky! Mr. Porcupine said, “You be quiet!” “No! I will not

be quiet,” said the Stinky, Smelly Skunk.

So Stinky, Smelly Skunk kept making lots of noise.

“Stop yelling and laughing,” said the Porcupine. “Nope,”

said skunk and she kept making more and more noise.

“It’s a sunny day and I am trying to sleep,” said Mr.

Porcupine

Page 25: Fables 2012

Then Mr. Porcupine said,

“If you don’t stop it I will call

your mom. She will come and

take you home. You will be in

so much trouble!” “I will not

make any more noise under

your window,” said that

Stinky, Smelly Skunk. “Thank

you. I am glad I did not have

to call your mom and I can go

back to sleep,” answered Mr.

Porcupine.

Moral: When you share instead of being selfish you

come out ahead.

Speedy Cheetah and Spotty

Leopard

By: Carson and Eli

It was a warm summer day in

South Africa, when Spotty Leopard

was going to play with crazy, high

swinging monkeys. He thought

these monkeys would play normally

with him. When Spotty Leopard

started to play with the high

swinging monkeys, he realized that

the high swinging monkeys were

too quick for Spotty Leopard. Then the high swinging monkeys started to

throw juicy mangoes at Spotty Leopard. The high swinging monkeys

laughed their heads off! The monkeys laughed so hard they splashed

freezing cold water in Spotty Leopard’s face.

Spotty Leopard ran across the plains in South Africa. Then Spotty

Leopard ran into a Speedy Cheetah. Speedy Cheetah said, “Hey watch it!”

Spotty Leopard said, “Are you okay?”

Next, Speedy Cheetah said, “What are your best abilities?”

Page 27: Fables 2012

Spotty Leopard said, “I can play tag, chase and run.”

Speedy Cheetah said, “I can do those activities too.”

Then when Spotty Leopard heard what Speedy Cheetah said, Spotty

Leopard said, “Why don’t we be

friends since we have the same

abilities?”

Speedy Cheetah said,

“Sure. Let’s be friends.”

Every day they would play

tag, run, and chase… but they

would play chase most of the

time. They lived happily ever

after in South Africa and stayed

away from crazy monkeys.

Moral: Play with those who have your abilities.

Panda and Grizzly

By Elis and Brock

In the hot summer

on a misty day in a

messy bamboo forest,

there was a cute panda

calling his cousin Mr.

Grizzly over for a delicious dinner.

Cute Mr. Panda was excited for Cousin Mr.

Grizzly to come over for an awesome dinner. Then,

Mr. Panda forgot that he didn’t have anything

ready. He chopped down some messy bamboo and

cooked it.

Page 29: Fables 2012

Grizzly did come for a delicious dinner, but Mr.

Panda only made stewed bamboo. Mr. Grizzly got

mad and left. Mr.

Panda got super

lonely.

Grizzly said in his

head, “I should ask

Mr. Panda to make

bumpy bamboo and

slimy fish.”

The moral of the story is: Look before you leap.

Hungry Lion and the Hard

Hermit Crabs

By Arianna and Madison

Once in an enormous forest,

there lived a hungry lion. By the

forest there was a sandy beach full

of hundreds of tiny hermit crabs.

The hungry lion decided to

gurgitate them.

The Hungry Lion was overjoyed if he found any tasty, hard

hermit crabs. He would tear them out of their shells and gurgitate

them. “Mmmmm…tasty!” Lion would say. “It was delicious,” he

thundered. “I will eat every hermit crab I can find”.

The next day he found one thousand hermit crabs. He forgot

to munch on them the day before, so he started munching and

crunching on every single hermit crab. The next day, he decided to

gobble up three thousand hermit crabs!!!!

Page 31: Fables 2012

After a while Hungry Lion

started groaning and moaning. He

had a stomach ache. Just then a

couple of teenie hermit crabs came

by…

He did not eat the hard hermit

crabs. Instead, he lay moaning and

groaning on the floor. “This is the

worst stomach ache in the world,”

he groaned. “I shouldn’t have

eaten all those teenie, tiny hermit crabs. I’m going to go to bed”.

The moral of the story is: Eating too much will always give

you a stomach ache.

Skunk and Fox

By: Aidan and Nathan

It was a dark afternoon in

Fox’s damp, wet cave. Fox was out

of fish to devour, but this fox was

no ordinary fox… he was a

Ferocious Fox (and lean!)

Ferocious Fox decided to trot

along the astonishing world of trees

and plants. He wandered for hours; not a molecule of food was left for

Ferocious Fox… but then, in the bushes was a Smelly Skunk who was

plump and fat full of food. Ferocious Fox’s mouth watered with slimy

saliva dripping from snout to paw all the way from his gums. Ferocious

Fox cleared his throat and said in the most proper voice, “Hello Skunk,

would you like to dine with me?”

Smelly Skunk replied in a high squeaky voice, “I’d love to!”

Ferocious Fox said in reply, “Great!!!”

The next day, Smelly Skunk awoke from his den and snuck into

Ferocious Fox’s damp cave. “Huh! You’re early!” said Ferocious Fox.

Page 33: Fables 2012

“Why don’t you make yourself at home

while I get the pot ready?” Ferocious

Fox looked at the pot. “Those are some

nice looking birds,” said Ferocious Fox.

Smelly Skunk took a glimpse at the

pot. Fox tried to push Smelly Skunk but

Smelly Skunk locked his back legs

around Ferocious Fox’s neck and

sprayed him in the face with smelly

skunk perfume.

Moral: Think ahead before you act.

Hiccup the Horse and

Stinky Skunk

By Paige and Meghan

It was a blazing hot spring

day in a horse stable where

Hiccup the Horse was hanging

out. Along came Stinky the Skunk

and they were talking for an hour

and a half.

Horse hiccupped and said, “It smells ferocious. It smells like a

litterbox!” Stinky said, “It wasn’t me!”. Stinky stampered off. Hiccup

hiccupped again and grunted, “Great, now my stable stinks.” Then

Stinky came back.

Stinky said, “It wasn’t me who smells bad. It’s you.” Hiccup said,

“Oh, like it was me. It was you.” Stinky replied, “It wasn’t me. I know

that I am a skunk, but it wasn’t me. I know it wasn’t.” “Well, it wasn’t

me,” said Hiccup. “Whatever,” said Stinky Skunk.

Stinky Skunk and Hiccup the Horse tramped off again like they

didn’t care. They stayed inside for about 45 minutes. Finally, Hiccup

Page 35: Fables 2012

came back outside and said, “Sorry for what I did.” Also, Stinky said,

“Want to be friends again?”

Huccup said, “Yes.” They both became friends again and had a

bomb of fun!

The moral of the story is: It’s better to recognize our own faults

than to put blame on others.

Choppy Cheetah,

Ferocious Lion, and, Of

Course, the Playful Bird

By: Cade and Sheaffer

One day Choppy Cheetah

and Ferocious Lion were

playing in the forest. The

forest was all grassy and

peaceful. They tackled each

other, but not in a fighting

way. Then Playful Bird came

along to join the game. They didn’t see Playful Bird until… he

came in front of their faces. Playful Bird asked, “Can I play?”

Choppy Cheetah and Ferocious Lion said, “Ok.” Then,

Playful Bird spread his wings and flew in the air. Also, Playful

Bird darted under the trees. Next, he sat on top of the trees. So

Choppy Cheetah tried to climb to the top of a tree and Ferocious

Lion tried to climb another tree. Lion’s tree snapped and fell.

Ferocious Lion couldn’t walk because he broke two of his legs.

Choppy Cheetah tried to fly but he fell and broke his ribs.

Playful Bird didn’t stay around because he lost his

playmates, since the cats got hurt. Playful Bird flew back to his

Page 37: Fables 2012

nest. The cats got really sad

because their new friend flew

away. They were also in

terrible pain. The cats were

mad at themselves because

they tried to be birds and

ended up getting hurt. They

decided next time to play with

cats.

Moral: Play with those

who have your own abilities.

Cuddly Kitten Vs. Slithering Snake

and Tricky Tarantula

By: Katie, Aaron and Michael

It was a blazing hot spring day. On

a beautiful morning Cuddly Kitten was

sitting on the ground… so bored. She had

absolutely nothing to do when she had a

perfect idea. Cuddly Kitten decided to

look around for something to do. That’s

when she met Tricky Tarantula.

When Cuddly Kitten met Tricky Tarantula, he noticed the kitten was

extremely bored. So Tricky Tarantula quickly thought up an idea. He would

trick Cuddly Kitten into batting a ball of yarn. “Yes!” he thought, “My plan is

absolutely perfect!”

Cuddly Kitten was persuaded so

well, that Tricky Tarantula just had to

buy a colorful ball of yarn. So he did.

Guess who was watching, Slithering

Snake! He saw how Tricky Tarantula

tricked Cuddly Kitten. He thought he

should have a try at tricking the cute

kitten.

Page 39: Fables 2012

Tricky Tarantula was so happy that he skipped off with some of Cuddly

Kitten’s money. Then Slithering Snake came. He is very good at tricking

others. Slithering snake thought, “I can tell her to watch this um…oh, this

stick … while I steal her ball of yarn.” “Oh Kitten, would you watch this

stick?” “Why?” said Cuddly

Kitten. “Well, because I’m afraid

that it will catch on fire.” “Oh,

OK,” said Cuddly Kitten.

While Cuddly Kitten was

watching the stick, Slithering

Snake stole her ball of yarn and

snuck away. The kitten said,

“Can I stop staring now?” There

was no answer. She looked

around for her ball of yarn. She

felt like she wanted to cry. So

she did.

Moral: Don’t let others trick you or you will be a fool.

Foolish Tiger and Fast Lion

By Ari and Jace

One hot, sunny summer

day in Africa, Fast Lion and

Foolish Tiger went to an

enemy’s race to win a huge

prize. The big prize was a

large cup full of ice cream.

The obstacles that the animals used in the humongous

race were: the long jump, the high jump, the pole jump, tag

team running, and swimming.

When Fast Lion and Foolish Tiger got on the starting

line the announcer said, “Ready, on your mark, get set, GO!”

So they were off. They were hooked together in the team

race. Selfish Zebra stepped on Foolish Tiger’s foot on

purpose. Foolish Tiger twisted his ankle so he could not run.

Foolish Tiger and Fast Lion lost the race. Then Foolish

Tiger started blaming Fast Lion for losing the race.

Page 41: Fables 2012

So then Foolish Tiger and

Fast Lion were no longer friends.

The moral of the story is: It is

better to recognize our own

defects than to put the blame on

others.

Puffy Penguin, Crazy

Panda and Cute Koala

By: Isabelle and Kyle

It was a cold, breezy

night and Puffy Penguin was

out stealing bananas from

Crazy Panda’s and Cute

Koala’s cottages in the rain

forest…

The next quiet, peaceful

morning Crazy Panda woke

up and noticed his bananas were missing! Crazy Panda called

Cute Koala up on his polka dot phone. Cute Koala said his

bananas were missing too! So Crazy Panda and Cute Koala

went to Puffy Penguin’s cottage. When Crazy Panda and Cute

Koala asked Puffy Penguin to please stop stealing the bananas,

Puffy Penguin said yes.

Page 43: Fables 2012

The next sizzling hot day,

Puffy Penguin stole bananas

again from Cute Koala’s and

Crazy Panda’s warm cottages.

Crazy Panda and Cute Koala

stopped playing with Puffy

Penguin.

One cold, dim morning…

Puffy Penguin asked why Cute

Koala and Crazy Panda were

not playing with him. Crazy

Panda and Cute Koala

answered, “Because you promised you would stop stealing

bananas from us and you didn’t.”

Moral: We must be truthful in what we do and what we say.

Don’t say one thing and then do the opposite.

The Cat and the Rabbit

By: Madeline and Miranda

It was a burning sunny

summer afternoon in a field of

grass. Curious Cat went for a walk.

She saw Racing Rabbit stretching

under a shady tree, so she walked

right up to Racing Rabbit. When

Curious Cat reached Racing Rabbit

she asked, “What are you doing?”

Racing Rabbit told Curious Cat, “None of your business.”

Curious Cat wanted to know but she went away anyway,

unsatisfied.

The very next day Curious Cat saw Racing Rabbit hopping

down the concrete path. Curious Cat walked over to Racing Rabbit

and asked, “Where are you going?” Racing Rabbit was furious that

curious Cat was so curious. She told Curious Cat to mind her own

business. Curious Cat wanted to know but she went away anyway,

unsatisfied.

Page 45: Fables 2012

A few fun days later

Curious Cat was sitting

under a giant, shady tree

eating delicious tuna.

Curious Cat saw Racing

Rabbit zooming by in an

exciting race. Racing Rabbit

spotted Curious Cat too.

Racing Rabbit thought that

she was super fast. She

decided to stop and talk

with Curious Cat. Racing

Rabbit asked Curious Cat,

“Why are you eating that

tuna?”

Curious cat told Racing Rabbit, “None of your business.”

Because of Racing Rabbit’s curiosity, she lost the race.

Moral: Every animal should mind his/her own business.

The Jellyfish, the Clownfish,

and the Dolphin

By Brionna W. and Morgan W.

It was a bright, warm

sunny day in the ocean. Sweet

Clownfish was swimming

around near his house when

suddenly he felt hungry.

Jellyfish was also hungry and

was trying to find a helpless

fish. Meanwhile, Dolphin was

swimming around bored.

Sweet Clownfish was SO hungry that he didn’t think he could

cook his own dinner. (Clownfish was a phenomenal cook.) He

decided to go to Fishway and get a tuna salad sandwich. Jellyfish
