A group of fishermen plan to go for deep-sea fishing for three months. The boat

in Diagram 10.4 is not suitable for the job and they decide to make modifications to it. Sekumpulan nelayan merancang untuk menangkap ikan di laut dalam selama tiga bulan. Bot dalam Rajah 10.4 tidak sesuai untuk aktiviti tersebut dan mereka ingin membuat pengubahsuaian.

Using the appropriate physics concepts, suggest and explain the modifications that have to be done to the boat. A student carries out an experiment to investigate the relationship between the sine of the angle of incidence, i and the sine of the angle of refraction, r of a glass

block.

The arrangement of the apparatus for the experiment is shown in Figure 1.1

A ray of light is directed along the angle of incidence, i = 20o and forms the angle

of refraction, r. The angle of refraction is measured by using a protractor. The

corresponding reading of r1 , is shown in Figure 1.2 on page 5.

The experiment is repeated by varying the angle of incidence, i, to 30o, 40o, 50o

and 60o. The corresponding angles of refraction, r are shown in Figures 1.3, 1.4,

1.5 and 1.6 on pages 6 and 7 respectively.
