C O N T E N T S Dear Mirpurian Readers, academic classes of 3rd term are going

on in full swing after the term break from 11 Sep to 27 Sep 15.

Inauguration Ceremony of newly constructed academic

building of the college ‘Sheikh Hasina Complex’ was the major

event of the term. The Honorable Prime Minister of the

People’s Republic of Bangladesh Sheikh Hasina graced the

occasion as Chief Guest and unveiled the stone. The Honorable

Prime Minister also visited the different places of the complex.

The Ceremony was attended by Ministers, Parliament

Members, Security and Defence Advisor, Chief of Army, Navy

& Air Staffs, PSO Armed Forces Division, PSO of three

services, Vice Chancellors of Universities & other high military

and civil officials were present amongst others.

Meanwhile the College has undertaken efforts to review

different training exercises to suit the present day requirement.

Undoubtedly, it remains as a constructive reiterative procedure

to train officers to meet the future challenges. This ‘Newsletter’

will remain as the testimony of diversified activities of the

college.

INAUGURATION CEREMONY OF “SHEIKH HASINA COMPLEX”

The Inauguration Ceremony of ‘Sheikh Hasina Complex’ was held on 07 Oct 15. The Honorable Prime Minister of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. The Ceremony was attended by Ministers, Members of Parliament, Services Chiefs, Diplomats, Senior Military and Civilian officials.

VISIT OF FOREIGN DELEGATIONS

The foreign delegations of USA, Palestine, Brunei, Sri Lanka, Turkey and UK visited DSCSC at various times. The delegations called on Commandant and Chief Instructor. Leaders of the delegation discussed issues on training activities of DSCSC. A walking tour of College Library, Clausewitz Book Store, Computer Lab, Syndicate Rooms and Mirpur Hall was organized for them. The head of the delegations signed visitor’s book at MH Foyer and exchanged crest and souvenirs.

OBSERVANCE OF NATIONAL /INDEPENDENCE DAY OF FRIENDLY FOREIGN COUNTRIES

DSCSC arranged celebration of National/Independence day of Zambia, Egypt, Pakistan, Indonesia, Malaysia, China, Uganda and Sierra Leone. The days were observed in a befitting manner by greeting the concerned student officers and making speeches in presence of all the student officers and permanent staffs to mark the occasion.

LADIES CLUB

DSCSC Ladies Club has active members from all the three services. This is also the premium organization which has members from friendly foreign countries. Various types of cultural programmes are organized by Ladies Club regularly. Ladies Club also organizes enrichment programmes and other common programmes frequently.

SOCIAL EVENTS AND SPORTS

Colourful and spectacular cultural shows were arranged by Army & Naval Wing at Mirpur Hall & Sheikh Hasina Complex. The programmes were full of fun and frolics, comedies, songs, dances and dramas. Their innovative ideas, imaginations and dedicated efforts made the social events amusing, momentous and highly enjoyable.

Games and sports in military have always worked as the refresher of physical and mental state. In DSCSC course 2015-16 also, it was no deviation despite the busy schedule, DSCSC duly emphasizes the requirement of games and sports for the course members in their course curriculum. Various sports competitions were held in DSCSC course 2015-16 like, football, volleyball etc.

TEWT PAPER WRITING, GHURNI JHAR AND VISIT TO MONGLA PORT

As part of the course curriculum of outdoor exercise named “TEWT PAPER WRITING” at Comilla Area, “GHURNI JHAR” at Savar Area and visited “MONGLA PORT” at Khulna Area. Chief instructor DSCSC accompanied the movement. Student officers got immense exposure in planning of brigade size force defensive operations on ground.
