Peacock House, formerly a farmhouse, has a date stone of 1769, situated on Dawbers Lane. Bobbin Mill and Armetriding House - The Bobbin Mill was built in the 1800’s and then rebuilt in 1851 as a Spinning Mill. Dower House is heading towards Shaw Green, before the motorway bridge. Waterside House and Riverside Cottage are located on footpath no.9 down the Yarrow Valley. Pincock Viaduct was built in brick in 1890’s to carry the slow line trains 80 feet high over the river. Balshaw Villa is a detached brick built guest house and was originally used by the visitors to Euxton Hall, and bears the Anderton family crest. Buildings of interest/industry Euxton Hall is an 18th century country house considerably enlarged from 1850 by William Anderton who had built a new entrance drive. Balshaw House on Balshaw Lane adjacent to the James Moorcroft play area is a Grade II listed building. The Bugle Inn on Wigan Road could date back before the 1767 date stone reads. The Old School is at the junction of Bank Lane and School Lane on Wigan Road. The Anderton Arms, as it was originally known, was a 17th century built tavern. Buckshaw Hall was built in the 1650s for the Robinson family and is now a grade II* listed building . Washington Hall was home to the 127th Replacement Battalion of the United States Air Force in 1942.
