SaFe Day School

SaFe Day School had their annual Christmas pro-gram on December 18th.

January finds us rested and re-freshed from The Christmas Break, and ready to start a New Year!

This month we will be learning about hibernation, and all things winter! Miss Meredith’s class will be doing all types of winter science experiments. We love to see what fun things she has for her class!

Then we will be coming to school in our PJ's!

“Lord, You have been our dwelling place in all generations. Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever You had formed the earth and the world, from everlasting to everlasting You are God. Teach us to count our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.” – Psalm 90:1,2,12

Another new year is upon us – what a challenge! It is especially challenging in light of

God’s Word that shows us our days upon the earth are rapidly passing. Maybe we need to pray

with the psalmist for a “heart of wisdom” that will enable us this year to live each new day in a

way that brings all glory to God.

2018 was a wonderful year of music and worship at Santa Fe, especially during the Ad-

vent and Christmas seasons. The Hanging of the Greens on December 2 was, as always, an in-

credible service. We were blessed to have the Deer Creek Brass Quintet (with our own Mikayla

Schwabe) at the Christmas Dinner on December 12. The Youth Bells and Santa Fe Winds

played beautifully in worship on December 16. The Chancel Choir led an amazing musical wor-

ship service “Tapestry of Light”, a Celtic Celebration with the Chamber Orchestra on Decem-

ber 23, and, of course, both evening

Christmas Eve services were sweet and

meaningful.

2019 Valentine’s Day Dinner and Silent Auction

Sponsored by the Santa Fe Youth

The Youth of Santa Fe invite you to attend the Annual Valentine’s Day

Dinner and Silent Auction. Please join us for an evening of fine dining,

cooked and served by the youth of the congregation, with the help from

the culinary talented Brian Champlin. Along with dinner, there will be

a silent auction consisting of items donated by members of the congre-

gation. Proceeds from the silent auction and ticket sales will help our

youth go on mission trips, conferences, as well as support other activi-

ties. Entertainment will be provided by the youth as well. This is a per-

fect way to spend Valentine’s Day and support a good cause. The din-

ner will be on Sunday, February 10, 2018. Tickets will be $15 in ad-

vance, until Wednesday, February 6, and $20 after February 6 and can

even be purchased at the door. Child care and a child friendly meal can

be provided. The ticket for a child friendly meal will be $5. The last day

to pre-register for child care and meal will be February 6. The commit-

tee will begin collecting donations for the silent auction on Saturday,

January 26, and these items will be available for bidding on Sunday,

Angel Tree and Whiz Kids Cards for Neighborhood Services Organization

What an awesome church we have!! The Mission Committee is very thankful to have the support of our

church members and to know you care about the mission work of our church. Because of you, we were

able to provide two gifts to each mother and each child that live in Martha’s House and Gatewood and

also gift cards to the Whiz Kids. You made many families and children have a much nicer Christmas.

Thanks again!!

Mission Committee

Building a Foundation for the Future

As 2018 draws to a close and we are finishing our stewardship drive, we are grateful for all who prayerfully completed pledge cards to support the ministry of Santa Fe in 2019. We have received 51 pledges so far amounting to almost $375,000 or 86% of our goal. If you are one considering a pledge but have not done so, please join in the effort. You can pick up a pledge card in the Narthex or the church office. Thank you for being a meaningful part of the Body of Christ. We have much to look for-ward to in the coming year.
