STATE FUNDING

$3,500,000 is allocated directly to districts on a per pupil basis.

$450,000 is allocated on three-year cycle competitive grants known as the LEP Enhancement Grants.

$50,000 stays at the state department to administer and evaluate the grant program.

$53,640,848 total Idaho allocation.

$525,570 for state administration of the Title I program.

$50,969,643 directly allocated to districts. District allocations are determined by Census data Adjusted for Charter Schools

$2,145,634 for School Improvement Activities

THE PURPOSE OF TITLE I

“The purpose of this title is to ensure that all children have a

fair, equal, and significant opportunity to obtain a high-

quality education and reach, at a minimum, proficiency on challenging State academic achievement standards and

state academic assessments.”

TITLE III - LEP

Title III LEP(Federal Title III Funds)

FEDERAL TITLE III: LANGUAGE INSTRUCTION FOR LIMITED ENGLISH

PROFICIENT AND IMMIGRANT STUDENTS Goal 1. This program is designed to improve the education of

limited English proficient (LEP) children and youths by helping them learn English and meet challenging state academic content and student academic achievement standards. The program provides enhanced instructional opportunities for immigrant children and youths.

Goal 2. To develop high-quality language instruction educational programs.

Goal 3. To provide high-quality professional development specific to meeting the needs of LEP and Immigrant students.

Goal 4. To promote meaningful and inclusive parental and community involvement among LEP families and communities.

Goal 5. Supplement not Supplant.

TITLE III FUNDING

$1,811,976 total Idaho allocation.

$175,000 for state administration of the Title III program.

$1,535,127 directly allocated to districts with enough students to incur a minimum $10,000 allocation.

$81,849 is competitive Emergency Immigrant grant.

$20,000 is competitive Consortia grants ($10,000 each).

TITLE IC – MIGRANT EDUCATION

$262,350 for state administration of the Title IC program.

$3,204,612 directly allocated to districts. Suballocation Factors include: Ages 3-5, PK, Regular Term K

to 12 Migrant Count, Move in Regular Year Count, LEP, Title I, Priority for Service, Migrant Summer School Count

Varying weights are assigned to determine how many children will be funded

$34,557 allowed for General Title I admin

WHAT IS TITLE II-A?

The purpose of Elementary and Secondary Education Act, Title II, Part A is to increase student academic achievement through strategies such as:

Improving teacher and principal quality; Increasing the number of highly qualified

teachers (HQT) in the classroom; Increasing the number of highly qualified

principals and assistant principals in the classroom; and

Holding school districts and schools accountable for improvements in student academic achievement.

TITLE IIA FUNDING

$10,599,488 total Idaho allocation.

$91,472 for state administration of the Title II program.

$10,238,580 directly allocated to districts.

$269,436 is designated for State Activities.

Requests should be made at least quarterly Requests made outside of that timeframe require

NEW for 2013-14 Districts with audit findings from 2012-13 will be
