I recently went car shopping for my son. Not knowing exactly

what kind of car we wanted, we ventured out, driving to a few

one thing I take for granted living in the North Valley…the

7KH�VWRS�DQG�JR�DW�HYHU\�OLJKW�PDGH�JHWWLQJ�IURP�SRLQW�$�WR�point B an irritating experience, especially when the line-up

ZDV�VR�ORQJ��ZH�VRPHWLPHV�GLGQ¶W�PDNH�LW�WKURXJK�D�OLJKW�RQ�RXU�¿UVW�WU\���(YHU\�once in awhile, it takes a trip like that to remind us how nice we have it up here.

Don’t get me wrong, living to the north has a few down sides, one being that

getting to most of the big-box stores requires a bit of travel (let’s be honest, most

RI�\RX�ZRXOG�ORYH�WR�KDYH�D�7DUJHW�ULJKW�DURXQG�WKH�FRUQHU����+RZHYHU��IRU�WKH�PRVW�part, what we need on a day-to-day basis is pretty close, easy to get to and more

Navy is considered a new neutral because of its

EASY TERIYAKI CHICKEN

Bring the soy sauce and honey to a simmer

in a small saucepan over medium heat,

stirring often until the honey has completely

HIT THE ROAD

Are you somebody that likes things that are a

bit out of the ordinary? Do terms like unique,

to the town of Jerome, located just eighty

miles north of Anthem.

Jerome is a town that has adapted with the

times for over a century. Copper mining

helped it grow from a tent city in the late

1800’s to a veritable boomtown with a peak population of 15,000 in the 1920’s. After

the mines closed a mass exodus occurred, causing the population to drop to as few as

50 residents in the 1950’s. Luckily, the counter-culture movement of the 60’s and 70’s

ushered in a new era and Jerome became a haven for artists, a designation which re-

mains to this day.

Whether it’s art, shopping, food or ghosts that you enjoy, you will discover a plethora of
