Latest Eyewear OnlineThe eyesiteonline shop has been redesigned to feature extended designer and value ranges of spectacles, sunglasses and sports eyewear.

Go to the online shopping tab on www.eyesiteonline.co.uk to browse designer collections, reserve frames or make an appointment at one of our stores. Many non-prescription frames for sunglasses, sportswear and reading glasses can be bought online and delivery is free of charge. When choosing new prescription frames, our advice is always to come into one of our stores for an eye examination and fitting.

You can also use the online shop to order repeat prescription contact lenses and to buy contact lens solutions and eye comfort drops. Latest FashionDesigner sunglasses with protective lensesA good pair of sunglasses is the ultimate accessory – adding the finishing flair to any outfit and ensuring you look cool even as the mercury soars. At Eyesite, you can choose from the fabulous ranges of top designers such as Chanel, Prada and Gucci.

Did you know the eye is ten times more sensitive to ultraviolet light than the skin?

Your sunglasses can be purchased with a variety of different lenses, including polarised lenses to reduce glare. All good quality lenses are CE registered to filter out damaging UVC light. For enhanced protection, you can opt for a lens that will also filter out blue light.

Prescription sunglasses give you the freedom of regular spectacles with the advantage of designer sunglass frames. Eyesite also offers a prescription anti-reflective surface for the back of your lenses. With standard sunglasses, up to 15 per cent of light reaches the rear surface of the lens, both directly (for instance if there is strong sunlight behind you) and reflected off surrounding surfaces such as water, sand and windows.

Latest Spectacle LensesIntroducing the revolutionary ‘eyecode’ lensesIf you have your distance correction glasses on, try this experiment… Focus on something in the distance, keep looking at the object while slowly turning your head to the side. You will notice that as you look away from the centre of your lenses, your vision becomes less clear.

Looking sideways through your spectacles alters the focus, which is why things can appear distorted compared to when you look through the centre of your lenses. Now, a unique new measuring system allows us to digitally manufacture your spectacle lenses with five times more precision, significantly improving the “off axis” performance.

The lenses are called “eyecode” and already our patients are raving about the quality of vision. Amy Naish (pictured), who works in our Reading practice, is shortsighted and recently got a new pair of glasses with eyecode lenses. “It is just like having a new prescription made up,” she says. “Everything looks sharper and I have much better vision at the sides.”

Latest HealthcareThe benefits of Optomap® screeningRegular eye tests measure the health of the front of the eye but only allow a small central section of the back (retina) to be seen at one time.

Our new high tech Optomap® screening equipment examines the majority of the retina through one single digital image. This allows us to assess the overall health of your eyes and to keep digital records so we can detect any tiny changes early.

Three Reading Football Club players have been among patients ensuring their eyes are in tip top health by having Optomap® screening. Footballers Mikkel Anderson, Adam Federici and Ben Hamer all had Optomap® as part of Eyesite’s Advanced Eye Examination at the Reading store.
