External Hemorrhoid Treatment - Without SurgeryWritten By: Jeffrey Glover

If you are looking for an external hemorrhoid treatment, then this article may provide you with some good ideas on how to get rid of hemorrhoids. But before we go into the details of these remedies, let us take a look at what it is that you are suffering from.

Hemorrhoids are those varicose veins and swollen tissues that are found in the rectum and anus region. There are two types of hemorrhoids, classified according to where they are located. Internal hemorrhoids are found inside the anal canal while the external ones are located outside of this canal.

The external hemorrhoids are the fleshy growth of enlarged veins and tissues that bulge outside of the anus, right under the skin that is surrounding the anal opening.

This type of hemorrhoids cause pain, discomfort, itching, burning and can bleed if not treated. If the vein breaks and bleeds, a pool of blood will form under the skin causing a hard, bluish lump resulting in Thrombosis. You need external hemorrhoid treatment when this happens.

Sufferers will usually find Thrombosed hemorrhoids very painful and quite unbearable. They occur in many middle-aged people. However there are many external hemorrhoid treatments to opt for and one does not have to be too overly concerned about the problem if they are doing something about it.

There are many modern and traditional methods that can help you deal with the condition.

One simple external hemorrhoid treatment is the taking of sitz baths. Fill your bath tub with warm water, just enough to cover the anal area. Soak for approximately 10-15 minutes. You need to do this several times a day. These baths are effective for relieving the pain and itching. It may also help in the shrinking of the hemorrhoids. The application of witch hazel after the bath on the affected area can be very helpful as well. This can be applied with the help of baby wipes.

To deal with the pain, you may also use non-prescription pain relievers such as Asprin or the various other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. They can be

effective in reducing the pain and swelling. Applying a warm, damp towel to the affected area a few times a day can bring some relief from the discomfort too.

If you want to apply medication, you should consult a doctor to determine the severity and the nature of your problem in order to know what is the best external hemorrhoid treatment to use. There are many topical creams and pills that you can take. Your doctor should be the best person to advice you.
