Since two decades, Bevcon MHS have been providing robust, reliable & efficient raw material handling systems which are low on maintenance and down time and customized to meet client’s needs.Y SRINIVAS REDDY, Founder and Managing Director, Bevcon Wayors Pvt Ltd
The Material Handling segment primarily compromises of cranes, forklifts, conveyors and hoists which products do you feel will be in demand and why?
The material handling segment can be classified as in plant/unit material handling (cranes, forklifts, hoists etc) and bulk material handling like conveyors, stackers, earth moving machinery etc., in plant material handling is always in demand and its growth is higher than bulk material handling which always depends on core infrastructure growth.
As far as material handling solutions (MHS) is concerned Bevcon has a varied product portfolio, are all these products manufactured under the same roof, what are the procedures in place to ensure the products produced are of desired quality?
With humble beginnings in 1994, the journey of Bevcon over last two decades has been driven with passion to explore, innovate and serve the industry with one motto - “Partner for Life”. A dedicated team of engineers and managers has enabled Bevcon to grow from strength to strength. Bevcon Product portfolio, which includes
equipment and systems for feeding, crushing, screening, specialty conveying and pneumatic handling combined with its EPCM project implementation capabilities, has enabled Bevcon to be recognized as a supplier of repute in the Indian Material Handling and Engineering industry.
Bevcon Wayors has state-of-the-art manufacturing set-up in Hyderabad to manufacture products meeting International standards of quality. executed in the cement and steel industry?
Since two decades, we have been providing robust, reliable & efficient raw material handling systems to almost all reputed cement & steel companies of India. Few Innovative and first-of-its-kind raw material handling systems provided to cement & steel sectors are
Cement Sector:• Executed in record time 1.5 km pipe
conveyor for handling 3150TPH limestone from Mine to Process plant at M/s. Shree Cement • Recently we have commissioned steep angle
sidewall conveyor in one of the cement plant in India for conveying 1650TPH clinker from wagon unloading to silo storage which is first-of its-kind installation in Indian cement industry this revolutionary concept is going to change the current practices adopted in Indian Cement Industry.
• Commissioned high capacity& long distance Pneumatic Conveying system for 100TPH Fly Ash from power plant to cement mill at M/s. Ultratech Cement, this will enable cost effective conveying of fly ash fulfilling 100% environmental needs.
• Commissioned dense Phase Pneumatic conveying system for
conveying 2 X 60TPH Fly Ash over 1.3km conveying distance from captive power plant ash silo to cement mill silo at M/s. Orient Cement. •Fuel and Raw Material Handling System for Dangote Cement, Zambia
• Fuel and Raw Material Handling System for Wonder, Reliance, Ultratech, Jaypee, KCP, Mangalam, Emami etc.
Steel Sector: • Executed Asia’s largest steep angle
conveyor for handling 2 X 500TPH Pet Coke from Wagon unloading area to storage silo at M/s. TATA Steel.
• Associated with World’s 1st DRI plant with Syn Gas from Coal Gasification plant at JSPL by executing 2500TPH Iron Ore, Limestone, Iron Ore Pallets, Dolomite and DRI Char handling system.
• Commissioned coal handling system for 2 X 67.5MW thermal power plant at M/s. Bhubaneswar Power.
• Executed Coal & Baggase Handling System at M/s. Eyra International, San Pedro Bio Energy SRL, Dominican Republic.
Contract Awarded:• Recently we have been awarded with
2500TPH coal conveying system for 2 X 660MW Super Critical Thermal Power Plant at Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Ltd., Suratgarh from BHEL.
• 1 X 800 MW Kothagudem TPS, Stage-VII, Unit-12 at Kothagudem, Khammam Dist., Telangana State from BHEL.
What measures have you undertaken to impart energy efficiency in the shopping floor?
We consistently engage in best practices to enable energy efficiency. Across the manufacturing unit we follow the 5S workplace organization
method for efficiency and effectiveness. Recently we have taken a decision to install solar panels on the roof top of our manufacturing unit which will enable us to save 30-35% of the total energy we consume currently. In the shop floor most of the tools used are pneumatic in nature leading to less power consumption in the shop floor.
How has “Make In India” benefitted the Material Handling sector?
Setting manufacturing hubs is one of the good decisions taken by the government. Manufacturing is the backbone of the GDP and most crucial sector for employment generation and supports Indian infrastructure growth enormously. Undoubtedly the opportunities going to be abundant, with latest drive of government “MAKE IN INDIA” it make sensible to develop manufacturing hubs which in turn enhances internal competency’s and capabilities… results will lead to self-reliance.
“Make in India” is a very good concept to enhance growth. Such concepts are required in the current business environment which is dynamic in nature. This concept will bring less dependency on the imports and entertain technological collaborations which are good for the overall growth of the MHE sector.
What are some of the key product launches you have lined up in the coming months?
Our fully automated conveyor idler and pulley manufacturing unit at Sri City in Andhra Pradesh will produce low resistance/high speed conveyor Idlers & pulleys which will bring down the overall power consumption of the conveyors. We are set to achieve this goal by the end of the current fiscal year. These energy efficient products will give us a good leverage in terms of generation of revenue.
