Welcome LetterWith only 68 Cents in my bank account, I was still convinced that you can make a living doing what you love. It was with this total in my checkbook that I landed my first major acting role. 68 Cents is what I was willing to have in order to realize my dream. Acting is a passion, an art, and a need that fills my gut.

It is this passion that motivated me 12 years ago to pull together a group of the most talented friends I had and

create a Company, a Company I lovingly named The 68 Cent Crew. Over the past 12 years, the 68 Cent Crew Theatre Company has grown into a family of loving, supportive and extraordinarily gifted actors. We are fortunate to have come so far, but it could not have come without hard work, commitment, and a fervent love for what we do.

How This Came Be Every member of The 68 Cent Crew Theatre Company was asked to write a one act with the theme being “Saying Goodbye.” Our mission was about more than just creating a show. The exercise was designed to inspire our members who are writers and also hopefully, create new writers.

Sixty scripts were handed in anonymously to our writing committee who then read them all. After many re-writes and notes, the committee narrowed them down to the six you will be seeing tonight.

I am always trying to motivate and inspire our members in every creative direction I can. This is the tenth time we have done an exercise like this. I am happy to say that each time several people subsequently became writers, directors and find the love for acting as a result of this process. I am very proud of everyone’s efforts and most importantly, their willingness to try new things. Hopefully, they were as inspired as much as I was.
