What is Summer Bridge?Summer Bridge is a free six week program designed to ease the transition from high school to college. Summer Bridge students take two courses: College Success Skills and Sociology 101 with an emphasis on the African-American experience and sociological perspectives. You will earn six UC/CSU transferable credits after successful completion of both courses.
Why participate in Summer Bridge?• You will receive a thorough evaluation of both
academic and personal skills needed for success in college.
• You will participate in career/vocational exploration activities to help you make informed career choices.
• You will receive an introduction to college that will give you an early understanding of the college system and resources that can work for you.
• You will have an opportunity to meet new friends and create a support system with students who will also be first-time college students.
