The origins of the city date back to 1906 when the railway from the South Pacific railroad company came to this area of the yaqui

A flag station was established in 1907 to make locomotive crossing the State supply of water, this station was called Cajeme. Obregon has 298,625 inhabitants. For its part the Cajeme municipality has 409,310 inhabitants.

Economy and Population

It is located south of the state, 50 km from the coast of the Sea of Cortez and 115 km of high mountains (above 1500 m), 240 km far from Hermosillo, the state capital.

The city features a warm desert climate . The temperature in January, the coldest month of winter, ranges from 6 ° (minimum) and 24 ° C (maximum); in July, the hottest month of the summer, ranges between 24 ° C and 38 ° C.

Geography and Climate
