Dear God, you are the source of all justice

and truth. Help us through our vigil tonight toproclaim your justice and to shine your light oftruth into our broken world so that we canovercome the evils of greed and corruption.Amen.

Leader: This vigil is one of 2000 happeningaround the world. We want to see goodgovernance in all public life: church, businessand government. Everyone has the chanceto sign a Global Call tonight, which will go to

leaders of nations asking for action on fairtaxes and open declaration of all

payments made by business and government no more secrecy or dishonesty.

Prayerfor the poor & oppressed.Community member prays:

Lord, we pray for those suffering injusticebecause of someone elses greed. We prayfor women who have to give birth withoutproper care when healthcare funds are mis-spent. We pray for families forced to pay

bribes just so their children can attend school.We pray for comfort, courage and blessing onthe poor who are most deeply impacted bycorruption. Amen.

Dear God, we pray for business people. We prayfor workers and employees to be honest and

hard-working. Amen.

Dear God, we pray for our leaders and theleaders of other nations. We pray they beguided by humility and integrity, as Danielwas. We pray they reject the temptations ofgreed, wealth and power, and instead seekthe common good for all people. Above all,we pray they encounter you in a powerful andpersonal way. Help us to honour them even

when we dont agree with them. Soften theirhearts to the cries of the poor. Amen.

Leader: To overcome corruption we needchange at every level. Its the only way. Weneed effective laws, a good justice system,free media and the determination that ouractions can bring change. We need moreDaniels and Esthers who are willing to stepout for goodness.

the cries of the oppressed, and give us thewisdom and courage to respond. God wepray for blessing, wisdom and protection ofour brothers and sisters who are standing upto corruption. Embolden us all to defendjustice and mercy. Amen.

family, church and work for honestyand integrity. May people see mylight and praise God.(Matthew 5:6 NIV)

people have the opportunity to
