SynopsisClassic QuickTime export options are no longer available in Final Cut Pro X. Customers require the additional Compressor 4 transcoding application to get more export options, including the Flip4Mac WMV export settings. Compressor 4 supports all Flip4Mac upgrade levels.

Final Cut Pro 10.1 now sends movies directly to Compressor without using the Share menu. Compressor 4.1 graphical user interface has also changed.

Exporting from Final Cut Pro & CompressorTo export from Final Cut Pro 10.1 and Compressor 4.1, follow these steps:

1. To add new export settings to Compressor, click on the plus (+) icon in the lower left corner of the Compressor Settings window.

2. When the drop-down menu displays, select QuickTime Export Components. Enter a Name and Description for your preset. Then click OK

3. In the Compressor settings window, select Windows Media from the Encoder Type drop-down menu. Select also a default location for the exported file. Click the Configure button.

4. When the Export Settings window displays, configure your WMV and WMA settings. Click OK when finished.

Note: This is the same window used when exporting from QuickTime 7 Player and other applications.

5. In Final Cut Pro 10.1, select File > Send to Compressor.

6. In Compressor, click the Add Outputs button and select your setting from the list. Click OK when finished.

7. Click Start Batch to begin processing.

8. Compressor processes the movie with Flip4Mac WMV QuickTime Export Component. The Progress bar displays the compression progress until completed.
