Price control• As Australia is a free-market economy, there is little formal

price control. – The national regulator, the Australian Competition and Consumer

Commission (ACCC), has the power under the Prices Surveillance Act of 1983 and the Trade Practices Act of 1974, to investigate, vet or monitor the prices charged by businesses.
