Exploring Dental Insurance Satisfaction and
Value for Beneficiaries
• Global Strategy Group, on behalf of AHIP, conducted an online
survey among 518 dental insurance beneficiaries who have visited
their dentist, oral surgeon, orthodontist, or other dental specialist
within the last year.
• The survey was fielded from October 6th – 11th, 2017.
• Care has been taken to ensure that the geographic and
demographic makeup of this population are properly represented by
the survey’s respondents.
Methodology
• Those who are currently enrolled in dental insurance plans, and have used
them in the past year, are highly satisfied with their insurance provider and
coverage.
• Beneficiaries find their plans easy to use and value the high-quality
preventive care they receive through their coverage.
• The benefits of dental insurance extend past the care and services they
provide – these plans are seen as affordable and delivering savings to
beneficiaries.
• For parents, dental insurance is an important safeguard that covers their
children’s specialized dental care like pediatric dentists and orthodontists.
