Himachal Pradesh, whenever you call this name the very first image strikes in mind is snow
capped peaks nestled in the grand Himalayas and complimenting lush valleys that have dazzling
rivers flowing through its heart. This state is one of the legendary landscapes that house the most
magical tourist spot in it. There are many famous names are associated with it whether you start
it from its capital city i.e. Shimla till Dalhousie, Palampur, Mandi, Manali and many more. But
there is a Magical hill station of Himachal Pradesh that is located in simply tranquil surroundings
of nature. The name is the Lahaul and Spiti that’s a district of Himachal and bordering with the
international territory named as Tibet. This scintillating place lies amidst the snow clad
mountains, glaciers, valleys and forests. This place is same from past many centuries there are as
such no major changes in the lifestyle of the people residing here. As, for them life has not
changed much and you can actually get the glimpse of glorious past of this region.
The locale population residing here shows you the perfect mix of multiple cultures. As most of
the people living in Lahaul and Spiti districts are either Hindus or Buddhists. That means you

Lahaul valley lies in the southern direction of the Ladakh territory. When you move towards the
north direction you will come across the gorgeous Kullu valley and the well-known Rohtang

Manali. The way to Lahaul opens through the Rohtang pass that gets opened by the mid of May
and closed from November to mid-May every year. So, while planning the trip to Lahaul & Spiti
one should make plans accordingly.
After reaching Lahaul now move to the stunning Spiti Valley. This place is named after the river
flowing through the valley, is often termed as the ‘fossil park of the world’. This hill station is
located at an elevation of 13,500 to 14,400 feet above from sea level. To reach the Spiti valley
one can connect this place from Shimla by driving down to Kaza, the district headquarters,
which lies at about 400 kilometers. This road is passing through Kinnaur so it is open throughout
the year. The climatic conditions of this region are known for being at extremes. This is one of
the key regions that it is counted amongst the least dense region of country. While talking about
the season of winters that simply cut off its territory from the rest of the country. But, this place
is ideally known for the trekking territory and colorful monasteries and people from all around
