Hung Tsz Man (2017 Cohort, BBA in Accountancy) Explore the Culture of China This summer, I joined a short-term exchange program co-organized by the Department of Accountancy at City University of Hong Kong and the Business School of Sun Yat-sen University (SYSBS). This program broadened my global vision as it provided me with the opportunity to explore the culture of China, in terms of professional education, technology, the economy and society. The courses in Guangzhou were very interesting and pragmatic as the professors at SYSBS seek to educate students by analyzing real-life business practices in mainland China. They shared their personal experiences with us which was very rewarding. In attending these courses, my understanding of the business practices in China was enhanced. Corporate Governance Case Study Presentation It was particularly rewarding to visit the big data and technology firms that had developed state-of-the-art web hosting facilities to serve world-renowned customers, including Apple, Microsoft, Alibaba, etc. They showed us different inventions, which enhanced our understanding of technological development in China. The most memorable experience was the Guizhou cultural tour where we traveled for four days. We traveled to Guiyang and Congjiang to experience the culture of the national minorities. By enjoying the Kam Grand Choirs and the Long Table Banquet, I understood more about the culture of the Gaeml. This experience enabled me to understand different cultures in China and motivated me to explore the different provinces in China.
