7th Annual Talent Show Friday, October 17 1:00PM HASC Free! We are looking for singers, dancers, musicians, poets, comedians, etc. Please join us to show your talent! No competition, just enjoyment! Take to the dance floor or just sit, listen and tap your toes as the Big Band Era comes alive with the “What’s Up Big Band.”

5th Annual Rich Wicker Pool Tournament Thursday, November 6 10:00AM KASCC $5.00 Entry Fee There are two brackets, so all skill levels are welcome. Light refreshments will be provided. Prizes will be awarded to the top participants. Must be registered by Monday, October 27th. Tournament is Co-Sponsored by the Wicker/Korbas family in memory of the Senior Center’s dear friend Rich Wicker.

Thanksgiving Luncheons Monday, November 17 12:00PM KASCC FREE Thursday, November 20 12:00PM HASC FREE Enjoy a turkey lunch with all the trimmings. Sponsored by the Hayward and Castro Valley Rotary Clubs. Free to the first 100 sign-ups.

Holiday High Tea Friday, December 12 1:00PM-3:00PM KASCC $10 Per Person Come and take part in a traditional English High Tea. Participants decorate a table for four people in a holiday theme with linens, china and silverware. The Center will provide the tea for your tea pot and the scrumptious snacks. Buy a table for four with your friends or sign up individually and meet new people. Tickets go on sale Monday, October 20th.

Soul Line Dance with Jewel Sunday, December 14 3:00PM-6:00PM HASC $6/door Join our wonderful instructor for an afternoon of soul line dancing. Bring comfortable shoes and a bottle of water. Enjoy great music and exercise! Partner not needed.

OUT Standing Seniors—A safe and confidential space for LGBTQ seniors 50+ 1st and 3rd Tuesday 11:15AM-2:00PM (group has lunch together at 12:00PM) Want a place where you can feel connected to other LGBTQ seniors 50+ to share thoughts, feelings, resources, information and support one another. OUT Standing Seniors is a drop-in peer group, facilitated by trained peers.

Kenneth Aitken Senior Center

Nick Calarco has always been fascinated by photography. Growing up, the pictures in Life magazine and National Geographic fascinated him and made him dream of far off places and instilled a desire in him to visit these places and photograph them. His collection of photographs “East to East” spans 50 years of travels and various proc-

esses’ used to express this vision. Features black and white, color, bromoil and solar etching.

Hayward Senior Center

Dilip Nandwana was born in India into a family of artists and architects. In high school he became interested in watercolor for its transparency and freshness. After retirement in 2012 Dilip took classes in Botanical Drawing and Painting; from these classes he leaned how to improve and refine his watercolor techniques.

Van Trips and Motor Coach Tours Procedures and Refund Policies:

Please note: Participants taking day van trips should expect to be gone for the duration of the day unless otherwise noted. Day Trips can return after 5pm when the center is closed. Please make sure your ride home is scheduled in advance. Van drivers can not drive you home. Participants must have a way of getting home promptly when we return.

Van Trip Procedures: No one, including Senior Center Supporters, are allowed to sign up before the 1st business day of the month that the Expanding Horizons is released. Participants will be able to sign up for only one trip per Center during the first two weeks of the Expanding Horizons release. Put your name and phone number on the waiting list for other trips you are interested in and we will call you after the first two weeks if we have an opening. You must sign up for your desired trip from the Center that the van departs. Non-residents of the Hayward Area Recreation and Park District must pay an additional non-resident fee of $5.00 per trip.

Van Trip Refund Procedures: No refunds will be issued if less than 24 hours of notification is received for the day trips. All Van Trip cancellations are subject to a $5.00 service charge and may take up to 21 days to process. In cases, where the Senior Center purchases admission tickets on your behalf, and the ticket company has a no refund policy, we will be unable to issue a refund to you.

Motor Coach Refund Procedures: Refunds will be issued only upon the Senior Centers cancellation of a trip or a specific cancellation policy by the Tour Company is in place. If a participant cancels within ten (10) business days of a trip, it will be the responsibility of the said participant to find a replacement or forfeit the refund. All motor coach cancellations made by participants are subject to a $5.00 service charge. Non-residents of the Hayward Area Recreation and Park District must pay an additional fee of $10.00 per coach trip. It is the policy of American Stage Tours to wait no longer than 15 minutes. If a participant is late and the bus has left it is the responsibility of the trip participant to make their own arrangements for the return trip home and it will be at their own cost.
