Exotic wildlife means any wildlife not indigenous to the province and whose

natural habitat is usually found in the wild

Wildlife kept as pets must be on the list of approved species set by the Forest,

Fish and Wildlife Division of the Department of Environment,

Energy and Forestry.

Pet stores licensed to sell exotic animals are responsible for:

Providing buyers with guidelines for the proper care of exotic pets

Transfering the licence to the buyer at the time of purchase.

Did you know...You cannot release an exotic pet into the wild. If it escapes, you are responsible for

its recapture and in the event that resources of the department are

required, you are responsible for all the costs incurred.
