Please ensure that your expression of interest is submitted in digital form, hard copies will not be accepted. Moreton Bay Regional Council Art Gallery Network reserves the right to reject works, exhibition proposals and submissions. Acknowledgement of receipt of your expression of interest will be issued within a two-week period of the date received. All expressions of interest will be kept on file for a period of 12 months When determining preferred exhibition date/s please be aware that the Art Gallery Network plans the exhibition program two to three years in advance. Conditions for successful applicants: Offers are subject to: ° Applicants entering a formal agreement with Moreton Bay Regional Councils Art Gallery Network. ° Applicants scheduling and maintaining regular contact with the selected gallery. ° Permission to use the gallery name must be sought in any request by successful applicants for funding or sponsorship. ° Use of the gallery and council name and or logos is not allowed without permission. Curatorial Decision The Curatorial Team – Art Galleries retains the indisputable right and curatorial discretion to change, deny or remove any work of art, signage or wording placed in the gallery that they deem inappropriate, unsuitable, poorly presented, occasioning concern to risk to the general public or offensive to public taste. Artists will be informed of this decision verbally or by email. Publicity The Art Gallery Network will publicise and promote exhibitions and events via email, online and social media. It is the responsibility of the artist to provide a selection of high-resolution images of work that will be in their exhibition and a short promotional blurb nine months prior to the exhibition which will be used in the six-month Art Gallery Network Exhibition Calendar and other promotional opportunities. Openings, Catering and Public Programs Opening date and time to be negotiated with the Curatorial Team – Art Galleries and the Venue Supervisor. The Mayor, then the Councillors will be invited to officially open the exhibition however, the artist/group is encouraged to invite an appropriate guest speaker. Catering is the responsibility of the Art Gallery Network however; artists and groups are asked to negotiate with the Venue Supervisor in relation to specific catering requirements or suggestions. Artists/groups are expected to contribute to public programs during their exhibitions. These can include introductory and advanced workshops, demonstrations, suggestions for childrens self-paced activities and artist talks. Hanging the works Successful applicants need to work with the Curatorial Team – Art Galleries to plan the exhibition layout eight weeks prior to the installation. The Gallery exhibition installation team is responsible for installation of the exhibition. Insurance Council insures the works of art in the exhibition however, it is the responsibility of the exhibiting artist/s to provide all relevant information 12 weeks in advance to allow Loan Agreements to be drawn up. These are to be signed by artists and countersigned by Moreton Bay Regional Council prior to the delivery of the work. General Conditions are subject to change and variation under Council authority. Appendix 2 The following is a guide to the information that should be provided in your expression of interest: 1. An exhibition rationale (minimum 500 words) including an exhibition title. Please address the following:

° Community appeal ° Cultural connections ° Uniqueness of the exhibition ° Target audience ° Artist selection ° Stakeholders – type and level of involvement

2. Sample images of 5 artworks approx. 300kb each 3. Provide an artist statement and CV of all participating artists

4. Number or works, running meters/ square meters required (your proposal should be well developed and defined, and the works should be completed or conceptually resolved at this stage).

5. Special installation requirements ° Special requirements to mount the work, including outline of proposed equipment and installation requirements (for example,

video/data projectors, plinths – with or without a Perspex covers, suspension, hooks or magnets etc.)

6. Public programs / Education kit ° Please provide a brief description of programs (eg artist talks), events or workshops you could offer. ° What is your proposed fee for offering programs, events and workshops? ° Are there costs for materials associated with the proposed workshops? If so, what is the estimated cost per person? ° Will you provide any educational resources for teachers and students visiting the exhibition? ° Will you provide information to assist guides in offering gallery tours? ° Do you have public liability insurance?

7. Discuss any workplace health and safety issues including weight of works, scale, chemical properties and so forth.

8. Artist Retail Approach ° Will exhibition merchandise be available for sale? ° If yes, please provide a price list. ° It is preferred that items not sold during the exhibition are returned and that Council is invoiced only for the items sold.

9. Exhibition Marketing ° Artist to provide a media release and high res images.

10. Funding ° Are you seeking sponsorship from government funding bodies and/or the private sector? ° Have you already secured funding? If so, please provide full details
