Introduction

the Fifth International Symposium on Ocean Wave Measurement and Analysis, WAVES 2005 will be held in Madrid (Spain) from 3rd to 7th July 2005. WAVES 2005 is the first in the series of successful specialized conferences on ocean wave measurement to be held outside of the United States. The previous symposium was held in San Francisco in 2001 and the First International Symposium on Waves was held in New Orleans in 1974. WAVES 2005 offers a special opportunity for professionals, researchers, managers, and those with interest in coastal and ocean wave measurement and analysis to meet, exchange information, present views, and share case studies that will promote communication and technology transfer, improve design, wave climate statistics, theoretical hydrodynamics, and practical solutions to many coastal challenges. A technical exhibition will be held during the symposium, with exhibit booths available to public institutions related to the sea, maritime hydraulics laboratories, field and laboratory instrument suppliers, maritime engineering companies, companies related to offshore technology, technical and scientific publications, and non-profit organizations. Palacio de Congresos de Madrid Paseo de la Castellana, 99 Website: www.pcm.tourspain.es The Symposium centre will be the Palacio de Congresos de Madrid, conveniently located in the most modern area of downtown Madrid with many quality hotels within walking distance. All activities during the symposium will take place in this venue: opening and closing session, keynotes, orals and posters sessions, exhibitions, pre-symposium courses, lunchs, coffe-breaks and cocktails.

Exhibition: Exhibition area will be located in an Anex Area to tha Main Hall (Levels A and C). It will be divided in booths of 3x3 sqm. (9 sqm). Booths of 9 sqm................................................................... 2,500,00 € Several Modules of 9 sqm. can be reserved by the same exhibitor.

Selection criteria to assign booths will be given by the Organizing Committee.

Booth reservation Includes::

• Exhibitor Badges: Exhibitors must demand the number of badges needed for the booth staff. Exhibitor badges gives free access to exhibition area but not to the scientific sessions. Each booth 9sqm. Will have 4 exhibitor badges.

• Delegate registration:

The exhibitors will have a free of charge full registration, for each module of 9sqm. For that registration a person name must be given. This person will be then registered as a regular participant with full access to scientific sessions, exhibition area, cocktail and social program.

• Opening Ceremony

All exhibitor will be able to attend in the Opening Ceremony.




Rules and Regulations for Exhibition

These Rules and Regulations are an integral part of the contract, invoice or confirmation of the exhibition and are binding to all exhibitors.

Contract for Exhibit space

The "Contract Form for Exhibit Space" must be returned within one week of exhibit space reservation/assignment. After this period the organiser has the right to offer the space to other potential exhibitors.

Conditions of Payment

The following conditions of payment mentioned on invoice are valid. 50% within 30 days of signing the contract, the rest of the 50% must be paied 30 days before the congress starts. All prices do not include Spanish VAT. Full payment must be made in advance of the meeting otherwise exhibitors will not be allowed to set up their stands.

Cancellation When an exhibit space, confirmed in writing, has to be cancelled, the rental fee still has to be paid before opening of the exhibition. In case the exhibit space can be let again, there is a cancellation fee of 20% to be paid. If only parts of the cancelled space can be let again, there will be a 20% cancellation fee for the part let again and full price for the rest.

Regulations of the venue The rules of PALACIO DE CONGRESOS, Madrid, are applicable. Parties not adhering to these regulations will be excluded from the exhibition after a first warning.

"Force Majeure"

If the exhibition has to be cancelled or changed due to unforeseen political and economic events, or general "force majeure", no claim for compensation can be made against the organiser.

Insurance Every exhibitor is responsible for any damage caused by himself or by persons at his service to other person`s stands, ownership or lives. Since neither the organiser nor its staff are liable for exhibitors goods - during the exhibition, installation and dismantling period - it is requested that exhibitors contract insurance policies accordingly.




Place of legal performance and venue Should the parties involved disagree on any point, they are subject to the official court of Madrid (Spain), thus Spanish law will be applied.

The Exhibition will be held in the Main Hall of the Palacio de Congresos de Madrid in close proximity to all room sessions and key scientific activities. In addition to this, coffee-breaks will be served in the Exhibition area.
