mployers, their insurance companies and third party administrators spend BILLIONS of dollars for their employees’ injury and long term disability exposure …an ever-increasing risk cost center.

he leading, vexing, and seemingly unsolvable, cost driver is employees with injuries leading to ‘CHRONIC PAIN’ costing the employer or insurance carrier hundreds of thousands to millions of dollars per claim due to wage replacement indemnity costs and ever increasing medical pain management costs. The greatest cost driver in the medical area is pharmacy costs, primarily driven by opioid overuse, and medications to control the opioid side effects.

he traditional approach of physician care together with pain medications (the bio-medical model) has not and will not alleviate the problem.

Up until recently there was no scalable, replicable, cost effective solution to this problem…until Integrated Medical Case Solutions (IMCS Group) pioneered a specialized behavioral health solution.

ver the last twenty years, two intertwined problems, chronic pain and opioid abuse, have inflicted significant harm to injured patients and egregious costs to insurers, employers and society. In the private sector alone, workers’ compensation costs associated with this problem exceed $40 BILLION per annum. The disabling effect of chronic pain and opioid overuse is even higher considering the indemnity effect on the disability insurance market. Payers’ (insurance companies) reaction to this problem was initially slow to develop. It wasn’t until the past couple of years that they began to initiate programs and adopt services to address the problem in a meaningful way.

ground-breaking behavioral health organization, IMCS GROUP is a privately-held company pioneering the first bio-psychosocial (behavioral) approach to pain management within the workers’ compensation and disability industry. Through their extensive network of Behavioral Health Providers, IMCS helps the injured party to heal with minimal aid of costly and oftentimes addictive prescription drugs, which can cost insurance carriers hundreds of thousands, to millions, of dollars per claim.

ayers are turning to IMCS methodologies to identify those with chronic pain and opioid abuse or those ‘at risk’ to have either or both. IMCS is the only network provider of specialized cognitive behavioral therapy solutions for the intertwined problems of chronic pain and opioid abuse.

ounder Michael Coupland (pronounced COPE-land), CPsych, RPsych, CRCA, is one of the top experts in this field. He is a prominent writer and a sought after speaker on the topic of pain, addiction and delayed recovery. In fact, he has developed a brand as THE expert in behavioral health solutions to reduce pain, manage trauma, and curb opioid dependency.

urther, he has created branded products and services closely aligned with his international recognition as a leader in behavioral health solutions and biopsychosocial services. These brands have rapidly become identified as part of the new language associated with the biopsychosocial (as opposed to the bio-medical) model.

he COPE Program is the flagship service of IMCS.

heir strategy is to dominate the as-of-yet untapped niche within the workers’ compensation and disability space.

he past year found the company in the enviable position of having more cases than it could process, along with a 60% increase in revenue. They are currently experiencing rapid growth and seek a best-in-class Chief Executive Officer to lead the company.
