Region Müllerthal - Small Luxembourg Switzerland

-> www.mullerthal.luThe Little Luxembourg Switzerland or Muller-thal describes an area in the northeast of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. The numerous mills along Sauer and „Schwarzer Ernz“ as well as many other streams gave their names to the third nature park in Luxembourg, the nature park „Mëllerdall“.Not only natural spectacles such as rock formations, caves and waterfalls make the Müllerthal an experience, the traces of history are equally exciting, as they reveal themselves to the hikers in many places. Certainly the stone witnesses such as the mighty castle ruins of Larochette, Beaufort Castle or Meysembourg Castle are the most impressive.

The remains of the Roman villa or the exhibition of Stone Age tools in the Museum of Prehistory in Echternach provide exciting insights into the life and work of our ances-tors. Typical of the region are the numerous mills. Previously, they were important sources of supply for people living far away from the commercial and settlement centres.

Luxemburg - The capital city

-> www.visitluxembourg.luLuxembourg City is a lively and bustling capital with a lot of great touristic attractions to visit and a multitude of things to do. As a cultural platform, it abounds in venues for artistic expression, such as museums, theatres and concert halls. The cultural offer that makes up Luxembourg is representative of its city dwellers: multilingual, multicultural, creative and eclectic. Indeed, the centre region of the country is home to nearly 170 different nationalities that have chosen to live in or next to a capital at the heart of action.

Nowhere else in Europe you will find such an outstanding mixture of historic sites and contemporary architecture. The old city of Luxembourg and its fortress has for long been part of the UNESCO World Heritage. With high-tech buildings running alongside historic monuments, the capital represents a rich tapestry of contrasts and urban experiences. In short: Luxembourg is a modern city with deep roots.

The Moselle

www.visitmoselle.luThe Moselle River, "D'Musel," as it is affection-ately known by its inhabitants, is one of the major rivers of Luxembourg. Its trajectory along the Luxembourg border runs 39 km in length to form a natural boundary with Germany. Moselle lends its name to one of the most beautiful valleys of Luxembourg, famous for its wineries, charming hotels and medieval towns.

The valley of the Moselle in Luxembourg is famous for its steep hills and vineyards. It is the birthplace of Luxembourg wines, mostly white varieties such as Riesling, Auxerrois and Pinot Gris. The hinterland of the Moselle is home to large plantations of fruit trees for the production of fresh juices, liqueurs and schnapps. Themed hikes, such as the wine route, are fully dedicated to the discovery of this region.
