Based in Bremen in northern Germany, The Imaging Source (TIS) have been building industrial cameras for over 25 years. Scorpion Vision have represented TIS for over 10 years, selling and supporting their range of high quality industrial imaging products both in the role of resellers to our components customer base and as an integrated part of our own machine vision systems.

TIS is one of the best camera manufacturers in our view, with minimal product failure and fantastic customer service. Nothing is too much trouble for the team at The Imaging Source; our special relationship with the manufacturer means they will often expedite orders under special circumstances to assist with customer demand.

Introducing Angus Simpson, who graduated from Coventry University this year with a 1st in Computer Science. Angus’ final year project was the development of an autonomous racing car where he used AI based machine vision to give the car brains. Although a new graduate, Angus brings enthusiasm by the bucket load along with fresh ideas and a serious interest in machine vision.

Angus said he realised that he’d made the right career choice when in the first week he was surveying a logistics warehouse for a 3D pallet inspection system and in the second week he was working on 3D robot vision for a fish processing factory.
