Anchored sheet pile wall

Example 7.4Elements of Soil Mechanics, 8th EditionExample 7.4

The worksheets in this spreadsheet illustrate the use of the BS8002 and Eurocode 7 methods of design for anchored sheet pile walls.

Although the sheets contain the data for Example 7.4 from the book, the data may be changed so that the reader can see the effect of varying the soil properties, retained height etc.

Instructions:1. On opening the spreadsheet, the user must click "Enable Macros" in the opening dialog box. (The macros contain the algorithms used to determine the design depth.)

2. As the routines call data from the partial factors spreadsheet, a second dialog box asking whether to update the data will appear. To use the default Eurocode 7 partial factor values, click "Don't Update". If, however, you have changed values in the partial factors spreadsheet, click "Update".

3. Select appropriate sheet to enter data and view results.
