Please note: external examinations

• FROM SEPTEMBER 2014 exams will take place in May and June

• In addition some subject have practical exams e.g. dance, catering, PE, drama etc. • The subect teacher decides the dates of these practical exams!

• Other courses may not have an end of course exam but are assessed throughout the year e.g. Btec courses

• All subjects do have controlled assessments which are part of your GCSE courses and need to be treated with the same ‘serious’ approach as your written exams. Make sure you are aware of the rules that apply to controlled assessments!!!

• Please remember that the days of sitting an exam on several occasions are over. Therefore, your school attendance is essential to your success. Remember you only get ONE OPPORTUNITY, don’t blow it!

BEING ON HOLIDAY ON THE DAY OF AN EXAM = 0 MARKS FOR THAT UNIT!!!!!

Your Statement of EntrySeveral weeks before the exams start you may receive a statement of entry from an examination board. This statement tells you what exams you have been entered for with that particular exam board, the date of the exams and whether you are doing a higher or foundation tier.

YOU MUST CHECK THESE CAREFULLY AND REPORT ANY ERROR IMMEDIATELY SO THAT WE CAN MAKE THE NECESSARY CORRECTION(S) IF NEEDED

I will also print you another statement with a summary of all your entries including your seat allocation for each of your exams. Once again it is your responsibility to check the statement and keep it safe! You must bring this statement to the examination room each time you have an examination. If you lose your statement of entry is up to you to print a new one (you can find it on eportal)

Examinations rules and regulationsAll the documents you need to be familiar with as well as the external examinations timetable are on the school Website.

Click on the STUDENT tab, scroll down to EXAM INFORMATION: the external examinationstimetable will be displayed followed by all the documents you need to know.
