ELC Korean Language Program
The Korean Language Program at Ewha Language Center (ELC), which marks its 26th year of providing Korean language education, has continued in developing curricula, course materials and methodologies. Ewha Language Center has devoted its resources to building an outstanding faculty, excellent teaching materials, and a caring attitude towards students. ELC is regarded as the best professional institution for Korean language education in terms of both size and quality in Korea.

Intensive Program• A systemized intensive Korean program for foreign students wishing to pursue Korean language training or prepare for their studies in Korea• Targets practical communication skills• Offers Korean culture programs related to the curriculum
Short-term Program • A short 3-week program for foreigners visiting Korea on vacation or break who want to study Korean • Offers Korean culture programs related to the curriculum for a better understanding and awareness of life in Korea

ELC’s Korean Language Programs
1. Target Students
Foreigners or ethnic Koreans overseas with at least a high school diploma
2. Required Documents
Additional documents may be requested if needed.Please contact us for more information on required documents and registration. Due to the time required for document examination and visa issuance, the application deadline for those of Chinese nationality is two months earlier than the regular deadline. The application deadline for those of non-visa waiver countries’ nationality is one month earlier than that of the regular deadline.
Ewha Language Center highly recommend our students have an insurance policy that includes a guarantee for illness and injury for international students. If the applicant is insurance holder, please submit the copy of insurance certificate to Ewha Language Center. At least two semesters of registration are required to issue a D-4 visa. According to the status of this visa agreement, certain nationality holders are required to register for at least four semesters to issue a D-4 visa.

All required documents which are not written in English, Chinese or Japanese should be translated into Korean/English and notarized by Korean notary office.Please contact us via e-mail at [email protected] before your submission since the required documents may need adjustment due to individual situations. After confirmation of all the required documents above, our course manager will inform the applicant of tuition fees.

[Registration Process]
Supporting scholarship for Korean language students whose parents graduated from Ewha Womans University.
Supporting scholarship for Korean language students whose parents are faculty of Ewha Womans University.
Supporting scholarship for students whose brothers and sisters simultaneously take Korean courses at Ewha Language Center.
A 1,000,000KRW scholarship rewarded to two international freshman students (transfer students are not eligible) of Ewha Woman’s University who have passed at least three semesters and completed level 6 of the Korean Intensive Program at Ewha Language Center.
50% of tuition fees for the Intensive Program attendees who receive the best grades in each level and re-register for the next semester.
Supporting scholarship for the winner of a Korean speech contest for foreigners recommended by ELC.
※Benefits of scholarships above cannot overlap.

After completing course registration and tuition payment, apply for the dormitory via e-mail at [email protected]. Your application result will be e-mailed to you one month before classes begin.
