16 YEARS OF PROGRESS

1994 EVS Broadcast Equipment S.A. is founded in February by Pierre L’Hoest, Laurent Minguet and Michel Counson. The founders of EVS aim to develop equipment for the digital recording of pictures on hard disks (disk recorders) for broadcasters.

1995 EVS develops a super digital hard disk recorder in partnership with Panasonic, who released the first Super Motion camera (capturing three times more pictures than a traditional camera) for the Olympic Games in Atlanta. This helps establish EVS’ reputation at an international level.

1997 EVS opens two subsidiaries in the United States and Hong Kong, to market its equipment in the Americas and Asia.

1998 EVS opens a subsidiary in France to help manage important developments in the World Cup. In October, EVS is listed on the first market of the Brussels Stock Exchange, raising EUR 7.4 million to fund the company’s expansion and build a high-caliber team.

1999 EVS establishes subsidiaries in Italy and the United Kingdom.

2000 EVS invests in video broadcasting systems and digital cinema while Japanese broadcaster NHK asks EVS to help develop a prototype of an HD recorder for the Olympic Games in Sydney.

2002 EVS deploys the XT platform for the first time during the FIFA World Cup, networking more than 80 recorders. A new office is opened in Los Angeles to help meet the growing needs of the digital cinema market.

2003 EVS inaugurates its new headquarters. HD television starts to make its mark across the USA, South Korea, Australia and Japan.

2004 EVS celebrates its 10th anniversary and a new revenue record. In December, the XDC digital cinema initiative is invigorated following the spin-out of XDC, resulting in a 60% dilution of EVS.

2005 EVS launches the XT2 television production platform, allowing efficient transition from SD to HD images. EVS acquires new projects by enabling near-live workflows in studio productions.

2006 EVS teams help some of the largest television networks in the world during the World Cup in Germany, deploying more than 200 EVS systems. The new IPDirector architecture at the heart of this mega-production makes it possible for the highest quality images to be sent to more than 900 million viewers.

2007 EVS invests in R&D and opens new offices to address growth in the promising studio segment, which increases by 25% during the year.

2008 Mobile production trucks for UEFA’s EURO 2008 and the Beijing Summer Olympics are equipped exclusively with EVS servers. The company in charge of video production for the International Olympic Committee uses EVS for the media server within the International Broadcast Center. With numerous TV stations also using EVS solutions, more than 700 XT2 servers are used across the globe to provide coverage of the Olympics.

2009 EVS continues to invest in R&D, developing new solutions for the studio market including XS, Insio and Xedio.

2010 EVS technology is selected by the host broadcasters (OBS and HBS) for the Winter Games in Vancouver and the FIFA World Cup in South Africa as the preferred technology provider for acquisition, storage, editing and media management operations. At the NAB Show in April, EVS announces the acquisition of OpenCube Technologies, the MXF-based solution specialist, which becomes a new business and development unit within EVS. On May 6, Sky News launches Europe’s first HD channel based on a fully-integrated EVS production system.

2011 EVS continues to innovate, launching XT3, the third generation of its XT servers, and C-Cast, the first system for delivering complementary content, including multiple camera angles, to ‘second screen’ platforms. C-Cast is part of Sports 360°, a new concept introduced by EVS which covers all aspects of sports media, from live broadcasting to new media distribution. The company continues to gain traction in news production, winning a major contract to provide a fully-integrated solution for Sky News Arabia, a new 24/7 Arabic news channel launching in 2012. It also opens its first Latin America office in Mexico City.

EVS in the news…

Sky News goes HD with EVS

Why: Wanting to enhance its news offering and give

viewers access to breaking news fast, Sky News decided

to launch a dedicated HD news channel. It looked to

EVS’ expertise to help it implement an integrated

workflow news production system.

How: EVS introduced HD upgrades at Sky News’ HQ in

West London and across local bureaux, including

London, Israel and Washington, all of which are

connected to the central hub. The EVS workflow

incorporated its high speed and reliable ingest and

playout servers combined with a central storage and production content management. In addition,

the full open architecture of the solution provided enabled seamless integration with post-

production, its newsroom computer system and deep archives.

Result: Sky News became the first European news channel to move to HD. The integration

between Sky News’ bureaux, field teams and West London HQ is now much more effective and

has led to enhancements of its newsgathering operations across TV, online and radio. Breaking

news can be turned around quickly because EVS’ architecture enables faster media access, a

quicker review and edit process, and a reliable workflow.

The EVS solution has helped to bring a new dimension to the way we handle our breaking news. We’re able to adapt quickly to any changes in news contribution and distribution practices. EVS has a progressive and pioneering outlook that matches our ethos. They’ve worked closely with us to shape products to suit our demanding needs. Bevan Gibson, Deputy Head of Technology for Sky News

EVS helps Channel One Russia create a ‘First’

Why: With an increasingly competitive television

market, Channel One Russia, (‘The First Channel’),

decided to revamp its tape-based information

programme department and launch the first fully-

integrated tapeless news production system in Russia

to support its global news operations.

How: Integrating seamlessly with its current

newsroom computer system, graphics suites and

storage devices, EVS implemented an end-to-end tapeless news production system comprising

multiple journalist browse, editing, monitoring and playout stations. Channel One Russia was able

to put in place one of the most advanced news production workflows in the world.

Result: Based on their prior experience of EVS’ live production workflows for sports, Channel

One Russia knew EVS could meet their challenging objectives. The installation of its tapeless

news production system has provided significant improvements to Channel One’s news

operations and given control back to their journalists – enabling faster, more accurate and more

interactive editing with high-quality, fast-turnaround live news programming for its global

Russian-speaking audience.

EVS’ technology is reliable and offers unique features that vastly speed up the process of collecting and broadcasting news. It’s an honour to be the first news operation in Russia to offer such an advanced news production workflow. Igor Yadykin, Deputy Chief, Technical Department, Channel One Russia

RTL Belgium renews its news commitment to EVS

Why: Following the successful implementation of a

tapeless production workflow based on EVS technology

for its news operations, RTL Belgium chose EVS’

solutions once again to help it fulfil its desire to create

a fully integrated tapeless HD infrastructure for its

news and TV entertainment operations.

How: Supported by EVS’ central news solution, RTL

Belgium has implemented a fully integrated HD

production infrastructure – from acquisition and

production to media management and playout.

Result: With an enhanced production workflow between RTL Belgium’s news, field and in-house

studios operations, the new tapeless HD-based production infrastructure has enabled RTL Belgium

to offer viewers the full benefits of HD - delivering breaking news and live entertainment without

delay. Journalists can now work on news pieces independently and easily edit using EVS’ editing

tools, meaning news pieces can be worked on right up to the last minute, with RTL providing the

hottest stories for its viewers.

The complete interoperability between RTL’s news and studio operations was our end goal from the start. The success of the project has been the result of a long-term collaboration with EVS. From a small project in 2004 aimed at optimising media interchange, we’ve now implemented a complete tapeless HD infrastructure for news and entertainment operations around EVS. Thierry Piette, Technical and IT Director at RTL Belgium

7 September 2012

CANAL+ kicks off new season with Canal Football App using EVS’ C-Cast

~ Belgian provider of high-speed broadcast production technology provides second

screen solution for extended live football coverage ~

Amsterdam, IBC2012, 7 September 2012 – To kick off the new Ligue 1 season with a bang, Canal

Plus, the French pay-TV broadcaster, has introduced Canal Football App, a second screen

application designed exclusively for Canal Plus subscribers. The app, which uses EVS’ second

screen media delivery platform, C-Cast, was successfully launched during the live broadcast of

the first headline match of the season between Stade de Reims and Olympique de Marseille.

The new app, conceptualised by CANAL+ Sports with the help of

the engineering department at CANAL+ and the NetcoSports

group for the design and the interface, is the first of its kind

providing up-to-the-minute statistics, multicam video clips of all the

highlights and bonus material such as Super Slow Motion action

replays in full length. It also features filmed reactions from the

commentators and special guests from Canal Plus’ live football

programme, Canal Football Club, as well as the possibility to

interact via social networks. The app is available on iOS for iPad

users, and since the beginning of this month on Android for those

using Samsung Galaxy tablets.

All of the app’s content is fed through EVS’ C-Cast; its automated hardware and software solution. C-

Cast instantly processes and transfers live multicam media recorded on EVS’ XT/XS production servers,

along with descriptive metadata and third-party items (graphics and statistics), direct to web-connected

tablets with the Canal Football App.

‘C-Cast was easily integrated into our existing EVS live production infrastructure, and coupled with the

added value that it brings, marginal production costs can be quickly recovered,’ explained François-

Charles Bideaux, director of sports production at Canal Plus. ‘With this new tool and our experience in

live football coverage, Canal Plus is setting itself apart by providing expert analysis from those who know

and love the game, while also providing a unique multi-screen football experience that will increase the

engagement of the fans and give them more control over the content they want to see. CANAL+ is

providing this new service during the live coverage of all 76 headline matches per season for the next

four seasons.’

During the match, Euro Media France, who were in charge of the production process, created clips and

associated metadata, such as keywords describing the action and timecode references, using EVS’

content production management suite, IPDirector. Key action shots and their references were then

Page 15: EVS PRESS KIT IBC2012 - EVS PRESS KIT IBC2012.pdf · EVS PRESS KIT IBC2012 Company profile Biographies of key speakers EVS in the News PR - Bayerischer Rundfunk opts for EVS servers

automatically transferred to C-Cast’s central database, where they were available in multiple angles, and

in a proxy file format - made possible by EVS’ synchronised multicam recording process. Graphics

showing match statistics - created with Symah Vision technology - were also integrated into the database

using the system’s advanced API architecture. As a result, the C-Cast database could feed the linked

web interface with the packaged media, in less than two minutes, direct to the football fans.

‘C-Cast truly personalises the viewer’s experience,” added Nicolas Tissier, project manager of the Canal

Football App at Canal Plus. ‘Just seconds after a clip has been created it’s instantly available on the

app’s timeline for review. Users can then select any camera in the stadium or on the pitch to view the

action from their preferred angle.’

7 September 2012

EVS delivers a news production solution for Finnish TV channel

Nelonen and daily newspaper Helsingin Sanomat

TV Tools contracts EVS to deliver a fully integrated solution to get the newsroom to air

Amsterdam, IBC2012, 7 September 2012 – Nelonen, one of the leading commercial TV

channels in Finland and Helsingin Sanomat, a leading daily newspaper in the Nordic

countries - both part of the Sanoma Media Group - are installing a new newsroom facility

using EVS’ news production solutions. The TV channel and the newspaper will be

equipped with the fully integrated workflow this winter.

Sanoma Media Group has invested in the facility, both to produce Nelonen news

broadcasts and serve its other multimedia operations, including Helsingin Sanomat.

Sanoma brought in technical services provider Filmworks to help it design and implement

a news production infrastructure. With its partner and system integrator TV Tools, they

decided that EVS’ solutions were the best for helping to create the workflow and bring the

group’s news to viewers.

The newsroom will be kitted out with EVS’ fully integrated news production workflow, and

the setup will see an XS server ingest four HD-SDI incoming feeds and record news

content natively with linked proxy files. EVS’ IPDirector software will control the server

and help to manage the ingest process. ENG materials can be reviewed if necessary and

files from news agencies can be imported, with proxy files being generated.

A 45TB capacity XStoreSAN will be used as a central storage platform, with a Xedio

suite used by news editors to browse content, produce on the fly rough-cut edits, build

storyboards - provided as an ActiveX in Avid iNews - and exchange EDLs to Apple FCP

craft editors, which are directly linked to the XStoreSAN. There will also be several Xedio

second XS server will be configured to provide four playout channels in the news gallery.

The EVS server will receive news stories from the Xedio suite, which will be linked to the

rundown lists created in iNews - through MOS integration. Mosart Media Lab automation

software will control the XS server as well as the secondary events in the gallery.

“We’re starting a new era in news production,” said Paavo Tervonen, visual director for

Helsingin Sanomat and Channel Four News. “With 300 journalists working in the

newsroom, they’ll be able to produce stories for the daily newspaper, TV news and for

digital platforms simultaneously. We’re confident that EVS will live up to its reputation and

provide us with an efficient and reliable production workflow so we can deliver high-

quality news on print, television or connected devices.”

The system will provide Nelonen with a super fast news production workflow and give

Sanoma Media Group the ability to configure and use EVS’ solution for Helsingin

Sanomat and other productions.

EVS has worked with many customers implementing integrated news solutions into its

existing infrastructures or creating completely new installations and Nelonen is another

example. Some of EVS’ larger news projects have included the likes of Sky News in

Osterley, Sky News Arabia, RTL Belgium and Channel One in Russia.

EVS and Mosart partner to enable advanced news automation workflows

and fast-turnaround newsroom production

~ EVS XT/XS series production servers and Mosart news automation interface help

producers and newscasters improve newsroom productivity ~

Amsterdam, IBC 2012, 7 September 2012 – Mosart, a leading

newscast automation system provider, has partnered with EVS, a

leader in broadcast production technology, to help producers and newscasters improve

newsroom productivity. The companies have teamed up to provide newsrooms with improved

production workflows using EVS’ XT/XS series production servers controlled by Mosart’s

automated interface.

Neatly complementing EVS’ news production products, Mosart has co-developed a solution that uses

EVS’ LinX Application Programming Interface (API) to enable the control and configuration of the XT/XS

series servers - at a glance reducing production times in studio and news operations.

Taking advantage of the power of the LinX API in the EVS XT/XS series production servers, the Mosart

interface makes it possible to offer newsrooms a range of automated processes – from advanced clip

management and display configurations to automatically adding metadata to clips.

The API command interface also enables automated playout control of the EVS servers, and even

means that content from one server can be played out on a different server. This means that together

EVS and Mosart take care of processes that traditionally hinder most news productions, enabling

directors to be freed up to produce better newsroom broadcasts for their partners and customers - and

ultimately keep their viewers engaged with up-to-the-minute dynamic content.

“We built our XT/XS series production servers with the LinX API to provide complete scalability and

flexibility, allowing third-party developers to create new applications and solutions for our broadcast and

production customers,” said Pacôme Palfroy, product manager, at EVS.

“We’re really impressed with the API development work that Mosart has integrated into production

workflows on our servers. Mosart has put advanced server controls at the fingertips of directors while

reducing the time it takes to manage those workflows. It is a brilliant solution to further optimise our

XT/XS series production servers, which already offer a comprehensive array of next-generation

automated news processes.” he added.

John Kjellevold, CEO at Mosart declared: “With EVS having a large customer base in sports, Mosart 3.0

is the perfect fit for its servers as it’s been designed to handle sports even better than before. Mosart

provides the ability to define advanced shortcuts, leave run-down and easily switch remotes, graphics

and cameras. By adding EVS to our lists, we’ll now be able to control most of the servers in a

broadcasting environment, which is important for us as a company with an “open philosophy”. Our aim

has always been to control all the major video servers.”

“The integration with EVS was based on customer demand and we aim to develop the integrations that

customers ask for, and by doing so, we’ve been able to extend the range of third party hardware

controlled by our automation system.” he added.

Sky News Arabia airs with a fully integrated EVS workflow

Amsterdam, IBC2012, 7 September 2012 – Sky News Arabia, the sister channel of Sky News in the

Middle East and North Africa, was officially launched this spring, powered by a fully integrated

EVS workflow. The 24-hour Arabic news service broadcast out of Abu Dhabi from a state-of-the-

art production facility.

Sky News Arabia is a joint venture between the Abu Dhabi Media Investment Corporation and BSkyB, which also runs Sky News in the UK. The free-to-air rolling news channel is being transmitted in both SD and HD across the region, and is available on multiple platforms including tablets and smartphones. Content is ingested and recorded natively as DVCPRO HD codec files on EVS’ XS media servers, with 32 recording channels dedicated to the incoming feeds. These feeds are scheduled with the SchedulAll system and then monitored by Miranda’s iControl system. Streamed on an EVS XStoreSAN, feeds are available both in high and low resolution (H.264 TS), allowing all newsroom users to instantly access media on the near-line storage for editing and playout. The XStoreSAN is a central storage platform with a capacity to store up to 3,000 hours of DVCPRO HD material at 100 Mbps. Using EVS’ IPLink, craft editors working with Apple Final Cut Pro can search for content stored on the XStoreSAN via the IPDirector database, and edit the selected content directly from the central storage. The edit suites are equipped with an EVS export plug-in which allows craft editors to export completed packages to the central storage, as well as to the XS media servers for playout. Journalists and multiplatform production teams at Sky News Arabia use Xedio CleanEdit to prepare news bulletins and reports. The non-linear editor from EVS enables users to make rough-cut edits in low resolution directly on the XStoreSAN. Moreover, Xedio CleanEdit also supports multiple formats and different aspect ratios on the same timeline. As a result, users can swiftly shape content and push it to post-production for advanced editing or to the galleries for playout. Playout operations are managed with Avid’s iNEWS Newsroom Computer System (NRCS) and EVS’ XS media servers, which provide four redundant playout channels. The integration between iNEWS and EVS’ IPDirector through MOS protocol support and the Active X plug-in, allows content and associated metadata stored on the XStoreSAN to be accessed and added – with a simple drag and drop – to the rundown list. In addition, any running order managed from the iNEWS client interface is automatically kept up to date on the IPDirector. Sky News Arabia also uses an XT3 server with an LSM - Live Slow Motion - remote control panel for fast turnaround review of events and time-slip operations. Using EVS’ IP2Archive, a media manager selects media files stored on the XStoreSAN and stores them on LTO tapes for archive. As soon as the file is on tape, the hi-res file is then erased from the central storage. Media on LTO tapes can also be restored on the central storage via the same interface. “EVS was a reliable partner during the launch of our first news HD project in the UK in 2010. Its technology has helped us speed up and optimise our newsgathering operations, which is why we decided to continue our collaboration for the launch of Sky News Arabia,” said Bevan Gibson, launch technical director.

Aspera and EVS partner to deliver end-to-end

solutions for live sports, news and entertainment

production

Aspera’s faspTM transfer software and EVS ingest, production and playout

servers support fast turnaround for live & near-live broadcast applications.

IBC 2012 - Aspera, Inc., creators of next-generation software technologies that move the

world’s large data at maximum speed, and EVS, a leading provider of broadcast and media

production systems have announced a technology alliance and partnership to deliver

complete end-to-end solutions for fast turnaround of live sports, news and entertainment

production. The combined solution leverages Aspera’s patented faspTM software for high-

speed transfer of content and EVS’s portfolio of ingest and production servers for live & near-

live broadcast applications.

EVS, the leader in sports broadcasting with Sports360, offers a complete solution for live production

covering ingest, central storage, editing, playout, post production, and archive. By integrating

Aspera’s high-speed fasp transport, production no longer has to be co-located at an event. Time-

critical high definition content can be transferred over a wide area network at maximum speed from

the sporting venue to a remote facility for editing, and ultimately back to the studio and on to

broadcasters for near-live broadcast. Complex workflows can be automated using Aspera

Orchestrator web application and SDK, while Aspera’s comprehensive security ensures all content

remains private and protected, and the built-in tracking and notification system alerts operators when

content is available.

“Aspera’s fasp transfer software was recently combined with the EVS solution to support the UEFA

LIVEX service for EURO2012 coverage”, said Johann Schreurs, General Manager New Media from

EVS. The production team at the International Broadcast Center relied on Aspera to transfer time-

critical content from the Digital Media Lounges at each sports venue to the central facility where it

was edited, transcoded and prepared for final broadcast using EVS equipment. The final output was

then delivered to broadcasters worldwide using Aspera solutions running on demand in the cloud.”

“We are pleased to partner with EVS, and jointly develop and deploy new media production and

distribution solutions to deliver the highest level of performance and outstanding value to broadcast

EVS announces new open workflow integration with Adobe at IBC2012

~ EVS enables full integration between its high-speed production servers

and Adobe Premiere Pro CS6 software video editing suites ~

Liège, 06 September 2012 – EVS, the leading broadcast production systems provider has

announced an open workflow collaboration with Adobe®, one of the world’s largest and most

diverse software companies. The initiative includes Adobe’s flagship video editing tool, Adobe®

Premiere® Pro Creative Suite 6 software, integrated with EVS’ industry-leading XT/XS high-speed

production servers. EVS will showcase the integrated workflow for the first time on its stand

(booth Hall8 B90) at IBC2012.

The integration between EVS’ production servers and Adobe Premiere Pro CS6 will enable users to exchange media recorded on EVS servers and send Adobe Premiere Pro CS6 edits back for instant playout. Using the industry-standard OP1a MXF or QuickTime Movies file exchange format, Adobe Premiere Pro users will be able to edit content while it’s being transferred as a background task via EVS’ XT/XS media production servers.

The streamlined workflow removes traditional production bottlenecks and gives Adobe Premiere Pro editors more time to focus on creative editorial tasks, rather than spending valuable time waiting for file transfers. Since EVS servers already natively support codecs used by Adobe Premiere Pro, it now means that files can be directly transferred without encoding and decoding, which saves time and also preserves image quality.

“Broadcasters need an editing solution that provides a quick turnaround, from acquisiton through delivery,” said Simon Williams, director strategic relations at Adobe. “The combination of Adobe Premiere Pro CS6 integrated with EVS production servers enables customers to complete projects faster than ever with a solution that is tested and supported by both companies.”

“We’re delighted about the announcement with Adobe and the integration of our broadcast production servers with Adobe Premiere Pro CS6. The initiative responds directly to an increasing demand by broadcasters and programme makers for faster turnaround TV productions - and will help increase the productivity and efficiency of our users in satisfying this demand,” explained Serge Comes, Media Product Manager at EVS. “This collaboration will not only help widen our potential customer base, but will also give the market greater choice. With this announcement, our XT/XS servers are now seamlessly integrated with the top three editing packages in the industry.”

IBC TV News breaks with EVS’ integrated

news production solution

Liège, Belgium - IBC TV News has reinforced its collaboration with EVS by asking them to

provide their news production system for a fourth year. EVS will install a fully integrated

news solution for HD ingest, storage, editing and playout to get the channel on air during

the IBC show, 7-11 September, in Amsterdam.

IBC TV News will produce 20-minute news programs during the exhibition which will feature top

stories from the show floor as well as highlights from the IBC Exhibition and Conference. EVS

systems will manage the entire HD production of the daily news programs, from the breakfast

show broadcast on the IBC TV News channel, to the morning and midday news flashes live on

the their website, mobile content, and video podcasts. For the first time, EVS will be providing

IBC TV News with a „news spot‟ on its stand (B90) in hall 8, which will enable it to conduct

interviews there throughout the show.

"EVS has provided us with a news solution for the last four years and also helped us move to a

full tapeless HD workflow, allowing us to achieve multi-purpose delivery and fast content

creation,” said Sue Robinson, Producer, IBC TV News. “This year there‟s an additional twist as

we‟ll be conducting various interviews direct from the EVS stand, making us more flexible and

accessible to exhibitors near and within this hall for interviews. With our main challenge being to

deliver interesting content at the highest quality standards to an audience of broadcast

specialists, EVS‟ continued support helps make our operations extremely efficient and we‟re able

to do just that.”

The complete workflow provided for IBC TV News will be based on EVS‟ advanced news

systems, including XS ingest and playout server for high-speed and high performance live

operations, combined with IPDirector content management (for ingest and playout) and Xedio

editing suites. In addition, all clips and edits will remain available on the EVS XStore SAN near

line storage, allowing editors to browse and edit the media at any time.

During the show, IBC TV ENG crews will use Sony XDCAM SxS to import their XDCAM HD

media files via Xedio Dispatcher. The new module offers instant review, rough-cut edit and on-

the-fly transcoding capabilities during transfer to EVS‟ production server. Additional A/V feed

acquisition (weather forecast, VTR, graphics) will be managed with the IPDirector ingest

scheduler. Once ingested or imported on the XS server, the content will be instantly available for

edit or playout. All edits including voice-over, graphics inserts and transition effects, will be

prepared by one of the three Xedio-CleanEdit stations, the latest generation of EVS NLE

systems. Two additional Apple Final Cut Pro stations will be used for final post-production

operations. The media interchange between EVS storage, editing tools and Final Cut Pro will be

fully transparent for the editors.

Finally, IBC TV News rundown and playlist on-air actions will be controlled by IPDirector, which

will manage all the media configured for playout operations on the XS production server.

“Our news solution uses technology from our live sports production workflow, so is fast, reliable

and flexible, delivering a live production facility on the stand” said Nicolas Bourdon, marketing

and communications director at EVS. “We‟re very happy to be helping IBC TV News team and

giving the best possible demonstration of EVS‟ news system‟s capabilities.

IBC TV News will be broadcast to more than 10,000 hotel rooms in Amsterdam each morning

before being transmitted worldwide, and will be repeated during the day at the RAI exhibition

center. IBC TV News will still be produced on site at the IBC stand in the new Workflow Village in

Hall 9, with some interviews also taking place on EVS‟ stand in hall 8.

Note to editors:

The XT3 server is at the heart of EVS’Sports360°. It’s been designed with advanced capabilities

such as eight recording/playback channels in loop mode, multi-codec native support, and

embedded high/low-res media management to get the most out of any recorded frame at the

highest speed and reliability. The new XT3 platform is the industry’s first server featuring six non-

stop 3Gbps feed ingest and playout channel capabilities for live and near live 3D or 3G

production operations.

The XS production server is built on EVS’ unique loop recording technology. Based on its

powerful dual networking capabilities (broadcasting and IT), the XS makes recorded media

instantly and directly available throughout the production network for simultaneous preview,

rough editing, archiving, playback or post-production. The XS can be configured with six full

3D/1080p channels (3G/Dual link) and offers the same features in a 3D environment. In addition,

it can be configured in SpotBox mode to be controlled through protocols by third-party systems.
