EVS Charter – Partnership
A solid partnership between EVS Sending, Host, Coordinating Organisations and the volunteer is the basis of every EVS project.
• SO prepares and supports the volunteers before, during and after the EVS Services.
• HO ensures safe and decent living and working conditions for the
volunteer. HO provides adequate personal, linguistic and task-related support, including the identification of a mentor for the volunteer.
• CO is the applicant and facilitates the implementation of the project.
EVS Charter – Principles
• Non-formal learning and intercultural dimension • Non-profit-making character of the project, full-time
service and active role of volunteer, EVS activities must not replace any employment.
• Benefit to local community • EVS is free of charge for the volunteers, except for a
possible contribution to the travel costs (maximum 10% of travel costs)

EVS Charter – Quality Standards
Support to volunteers:
• Crisis prevention: support before/during/after EVS Services • Administration: insurance, visa, residence permit, travels etc. • EVS trainings (PD, OA, MTM)• Evaluation • Information to all EVS partners about the project • Visibility / dissemination • Recognition: Each EVS vol. is entitled to receive a Youthpass.
HO responsibilities• EVS Principle: accessibility – well defined task – vols’ ideas, creativity ,
experience - learning opportunities• Task related support: supervision/guidance through experienced staff• Personal support: Mentor
– support during the learning/Youthpass process – support to integrate into local community/to meet other young
people – encourages contact with other EVS volunteers
• Training: participation of the volunteer in OA, MTM, language lessons – send updated list of vols/dates to EUF
• Accommodation: decent and clean house / fire protection • Food: meals/food allowance (also for holiday period) • Local transport: ensuring local transport is available • Allowance: due allowance to the volunteer on a weekly or monthly basis.

BEFORE VOLUNTEERS ARRIVAL:
• Solid partnership between SO+HO+CO• Congratulate volunteer - letter/Info kit• Insurance - enroll volunteer in time• Travel arrangements - book in time• Partnership agreements - very important• SOHO seminars - educate your staff/mentors

RIGHT AFTER ARRIVAL:
• Welcome volunteer on arrival• Accommodation - clean and nice• Cleaning scedule for the house/appartment• Food - meals and/or food allowance – clear system• Information about volunteer‘s tasks• Project manager responsible for EVS project not
volunteer• Mentor available

DURING THE EVS SERVICE:
• Clear tasks for volunteer• Communication betw. vol and proj. manager• Communication between vol and mentor• EVS trainings • Language lessons• Learning process - Youthpass

EUF logo has to be:• in all publication connected to the projects • on your web/facebook • on posters that are made in connection to the
projects• videos, you or the volunteers make about the
projects, etc

• When you publish articles about your EVS projects where ever it´s done it is important to mention that these are EVS projects granted by EUF or the European Union but not only that this is a project your organisation stands for
• That means try to put Evrópa unga fólksins in all media coverage

• You can use the EUF Facebook to advertise your project and events connected to them
• Please keep all media covers and hand it in with the final reports
