Evolution from 1g to 4g system

Evolution of mobile wireless communication networks : 1G to 4G.

1g Wireless System :Developed in 1980s and completed in early 1990’s

2g Wireless System :The 2G phase began in the 1990s and much of this technology is still in use.

3g Wireless System :It was developed in the late 1990s until present day, Japan is the first country having introduced 3G nationally

4g Wireless System: It is the most advanced and most efficient which is yet to be implemented in India.

4G

Expected in near future.

Mobile multimedia, Anytime anywhere, Global support, Integrated wireless solution, Customized personal service

WiMAX(Worldwide Interoperability for

Microwave Access)

Is a wireless communications standard designed to provide 30 to 40 megabit-per-second data rates.

It us designed for 4G wireless broad band solutions.

3G WIRELESS SYSTEM

Services include:

Global roaming

Superior voice quality and video conference

Information for web surfing, music, news, corporate intranet, transportation service etc

Transmission speeds from 125kbps to 2Mbps

Issues on 3G wireless system

High input fees for the 3G service licenses

Inefficient to meet needs of future high-performance

Multiple standards for 3G

Require wider bandwidth

Lack of coverage because it is still new service

4G wireless system

4G technologies are sometimes referred to by the acronym "MAGIC," which stands for Mobile multimedia, Anytime/any-where, Global mobility support, Integrated wireless and Customized personal service.

4G refers to the next generation of wireless technology that promises higher data rates and expanded multimedia services.

The 4G is defined as a completely new fully IP-based integrated system of systems and network of networks achieved after convergence of wired and wireless networks as well as computers, consumer electronics, and communication technology and several other convergences that will be capable to provide 100 Mbps and 1 Gbps, respectively in outdoor and indoor environments, with end-to-end QoS and high security, offering any kind of services at any time as per user requirements, anywhere with seamless interoperability, always on, affordable cost, one billing and fully personalized.
