EARLY COMPUTING DEVICES
The AbacusThe first calculating device is known as the ABACUS. This device was invented some 5,000 years ago in China.
THE ABACUS
NAPIER’S BONES In 1617, John Napier invented a calculating device known as Napier’s Bones.
This calculating device was specially used for multiplications.

THE PASCALINE CALCULATOR
In 1642, Blaise Pascal, a French mathematician, invented the Pascal calculator. This device, also known as the Pascaline. This device was limited to addition & subtraction only.

ANALYTICAL ENGINE
In, 1834, he invented another device which was a programmable mechanical calculator known as Analytical Engine. All the modern computers are based on the concept of Analytical Engine.
