Storyboard and description

The first thing we see is a close up of The Victim’s hand tapping anxiously; then the clip cuts to The Loan Shark rushing down the corridor and the aforementioned and latter are cut between. Layered with a tense soundtrack this adds depth and dread to the first 20 seconds of the film. A confrontation ensues and The Victim is left with a threat. The confrontation involves The Loan “Shark” proverbially circling the victim, this hints towards how “evil” and superior the Loan Shark is (Most shots of the Loan Shark are shot from low down to emphasise this).

The Shark threatens the Victim’s family and then makes haste and swiftly departs on a serious tone to make his message just that more hard hitting. As the door closes behind we can see the Victim sitting distraught at the table, the next scene showing his reaction now he is alone. The use of music helps the tone throughout the whole film but works especially well here.
