Our new Folk in the Foyer sessions have proved to be a huge hit with regular live acts continuing this season in the Foyer bar. As well as top professional acts such as Toyah Willcox, Shappi Khorsandi, Rich Hall, Jackson Live and the fabulous Vienna Festival Ballet, there’s lots of local talent too with Phoenix Youth Theatre’s The
Wizard of Oz and EODS’ production of CHESS – The Musical. No winter season would be complete without a Panto and once again Phoenix Theatre Group delivers the goods with their production of “Snow White The Panto”. There’s more family fun as the fantastic Immersion Theatre Company returns to take us on a magical journey with Alice in Wonderland in February 2017. Since their splendid Evesham concert last year, this quartet has been playing around the country together and as individual members of ensembles including English National Ballet Philharmonic Orchestra, BBC Symphony Orchestra and the Academy of St Martin’s in the Field. Sheffield's young contemporary folk singer
Kirsty draws upon a wide range of traditional music. Her warm and memorable voice helped her win Bromyard's Fred Jordan Memorial Folk Singing Competition in 2010, since when she's performed at festivals and folk clubs around the UK and abroad. Kirsty's 2015 debut album 'Time Ashore' features original songs as well as folk gems. She'll be joined by multi-instrumentalist Simon Dumpleton - and supported by Bristol's rising young folk star Susie Dobson.

Some artists welcomed the attention (and publicity), others were hurt by the perceived attacks on their integrity. Art historian, author and lecturer Barry Venning takes a look at modern art in the view of cartoonists.

Amid the battle of France, Dunkirk, the Battle of Britain and the Blitz, Mr Punch’s cartoons reflected the cheerful resolve of the British people to carry on a way of life under threat. Features such as ‘From the Home Front’ and ‘At the Pictures’ dealt with topical issues in an informed but humorous way. Artist and lecturer Tim Stimson looks at WW2's darkest days through the pages of Punch Magazine 1940 - bought at a car boot sale for £4.
