Campus dining is a big part of the college experience. Our goal is to provide a variety of healthy foods in a fun atmosphere. Our efforts are to enrich your dining experience by making it eventful and enjoyable. We will continue to make adjustments in order to keep pace with your ever-changing schedules, lifestyles, preferences and nutritional needs. As always, we encourage your involvement and input. We look forward to serving you and trust that your academic year will be an exciting, rewarding and memorable experience.

KING ALFRED PLAN plan is for students who enjoy three meals per day on campus and includes unlimited access to Ade Dining Hall during regular dining hours. Also included are (4) weekend meals each week, 15 Saxon Swipes and $50 Dining Dollars (*see Saxon Swipe).

GOLD PLAN plan provides two meals per day in Ade Dining Hall with the option to dine in Powell Café, Art’s Spot and MidKnight Express for 16 meals per week.

PURPLE PLAN provides approximately one-two meals per day in Ade Dining Hall and the option to dine in Powell Café, Art’s Spot and MidKnight Express for 13 meals per week.

BLACK KNIGHT PLAN offers $575 Dining Dollars and is designed for students who prefer to purchase food as needed in our Powell Café, Art’s Spot, and MidKnight Express locations. This plan includes three meals per week in Ade Dining Hall and 30 Saxon Swipes per semester.

COMMUTER PLAN is designed for students living off campus or in specific housing on campus, with 80 Saxon Swipes and $100 Dining Dollars to use in Ade Dining Hall, Powell Café, Art’s Spot and MidKnight Express per semester.

Ade Meals are meals used in Ade Dining Hall exclusively and are reloaded on your meal card at the beginning of each week starting Sunday mornings. These can only be used by the meal plan member.

Saxon Swipes are block meals that can be used throughout each semester at a variety of locations: Powell Café and MidKnight Express for a combo meal or at Ade Dining Hall as a meal for the meal plan member and/or their guest(s). Saxon Swipes and do not roll over from one semester to the next.*The King Alfred Plan includes four weekend meals, similarto Saxon Swipes, however they are added to the planevery Saturday morning. If there is a balance afterSunday of each week, those meals can be used throughoutthe rest of the week until the following Friday.

Dining Dollars are used like cash at AU Fresh locations and select vending machines on campus. Dining Dollars only come with the purchase of a meal plan and roll over from the Fall to Spring semester. Dining Dollars expire, regardless of the balance, on Commencement Day of each academic year.

Fiat Bux are used like Dining Dollars with an added benefit. In addition to the areas listed above for Dining Dollars, Fiat Bux can be used at other AU locations including Clay Store in Binns-Merrill, The Press of the Dingbat in Harder Hall, Photocopiers in Scholes and Herrick Libraries, and at the Barnes & Noble Bookstore in Powell Campus Center. Fiat Bux can be purchased at Powell Café and MidKnight Express during regular hours of operation with cash or credit card. Fiat Bux are valid until Commencement Day each year.

Lost ID Cards Students should report lost ID Cards immediately to AU Fresh at Ade Dining Hall, Powell Café, Art’s Spot or MidKnight Express during regular business hours. Reporting a lost card allows AU Fresh to invalidate the dining dollars/meals so they cannot be used by anyone else. Each dining location offers temporary meals until the student is able to replace their ID card. By completing a temporary meal form the student is allowed up to four meals in that location. Students can get their ID cards replaced at the Dining Services office on the first floor of Ade Hall, Monday - Friday 9:00 AM -11:00 AM., or by appointment (607) 871-2247. There is a $10.00 charge for replacement ID cards. This can be paid by cash or charged to their student account.

AU FRESH campus dining is a large part of the AU experience. In efforts to develop new dining initiatives and increased campus engagement, our goal is to develop relationships with students, faculty and staff as we pursue new and exciting ways to enhance your dining experience.

Our sustainability efforts continue to grow to support the Alfred community with greater purchasing power from our local farmers and vendors.

AU Fresh brings you customized daily menus dedicated to scratch cooking and our fresh food philosophy. We feature an expanded array of exciting concepts and freshly prepared items in our culinary center. Our focus on house-made selections from our very own pasta machine, fresh ground peanut butter grinder, gelato maker, Mongolian grill and smoker will provide continued culinary enhancements to our menu variety and daily selections.

Offering late night hours all week, Midnight Express is a great hangout spot located on the first floor of Ade Hall.

Select from hand breaded chicken tenders or hand rolled buffalo wraps. There are a variety of grilled items made fresh just for you! When real hunger strikes, round out any of our grilled items with your favorite side and a fountain beverage for the perfect late snack! Now serving Hershey's soft serve milkshakes! Come try your favorite frozen flavor.

Located on the third floor of Powell Campus Center, Powell Café is a large retail location with seven stations to provide a wide variety of food styles for our guest to enjoy. From freshly made-to-order wraps, our World Restaurant Collection globally inspired cuisines, signature chicken sandwiches, gourmet coffee beverages, and all natural smoothies, there is something for everyone!
