ANTERIOR

Dr. Shiro Suzuki, University ofAlabama, conducted a wear studyexamining the localized wear andmeasuring the wear resistance ofIvoclar Vivadent DCL - composi-tion teeth (Ortholingual®) versusIPN® (Trubyte Portrait®) in a simu-lated oral environment (UAB OralWear Simulator). He found similarexcellent wear resistance for bothlines of teeth.

Using an identical wear testingmachine, but examining general-ized wear, Dr. Karl Leinfelder compared the wear resistance ofDCL-composition teeth (SR-Antaris®) with both Trublend®

SLM® and Bioblend® IPN® andfound no statistical differences inthe results. All of the teeth testedwere significantly more wearresistant than conventional acrylic line (Bioblend®) tested.

Ivoclar Vivadent’s DCL composi-tion and its clinical efficacy hasalso been successfully document-ed in clinical studies. In aprospective 36 month study byDrs. Celar and Slavicek, et al, theclinical performance of DCL com-position teeth were evaluatedusing over twenty parameters togauge clinical performance. Thestudy encompassed full denture,partial dentures and implant supported over-dentures.

An additional study report byDr. Marxkors (University atMünster, Germany) followed 30patients with DCL teeth for over5 years and found clinicallyacceptable results in all categories,with no observed significantchange in wear from first recall.
