WANTED TO TELL YOU

Let’s face it – résumés are boring. People talk themselves up. You have to read between the lines to figure out what “grocery sales executive” actually means and then you’re still no closer to learning about who they really are.

This presentation is all about

engagement

It’s about giving you a better insight into how hiring me - working with me and using my skills - will make you feel.

Let’s get to it then, shall we?

A bit about me

33 years old. Graduate Certificate in Management. Grew up in the Blue Mountains(west of Sydney). Moved to Canberra 5 years ago.

Legendary Gamer. Justice of the Peace Data Wiz, People Manager, IT Architect.

Community Builder. Maker of things. Problem Solver.

Just married.

Woohoo!

Work History

Superpowers

I’ve developed a reputation for versatility throughout my career. This has allowed me to

take on unfamiliar, challenging, and high-risk roles based on my ability to quickly

become a subject matter expert.

Since we’re venturing dangerously close to résumé-speak here’s a few key examples

I’d love to tell you more about face to face:

Identifying and resolving network-level

internet access and email faults

Providing hydraulic modelling support to developers

and local council assessors

Managing 60 staff in a high pressure,

high stake wagering environment

Running a mortgage administration department with

high daily financial exposure and risk

I’m great at distilling complexity – detailed data, systems, processes, papers and

policies – into concise and easy to understand structures.

I’m pretty handy with

Strategic insight and storytelling Critical and creative thinking

NUMBERS

Data Analysis

Geocoding and graphical plotting

Online community building User experience design

Software and web app development

These final few slides feature some of my latest hobby projects

Learning as I went, it took me 18 months. I documented the process in an online worklog which has been

incredibly popular; receiving over 315,000 views and creating a community of engaged followers.

I really like designing business cards.

Well, that’s enough! I’m passionate about what I do. My unique set of skills and abilities allow me to

adapt to new roles and complicated subject matter easily. Most of all I love to be

challenged!

If you’ve got a challenge in mind then I’d love to hear from you.
